Penn State at Purdue

During football season we talk a lot about the distribution of talent. Specifically how certain teams will always be much better than others as a result of the talent they are able to recruit. Good football players want to attend schools known for their football. Well, same holds true for hoops. There are basketball schools and there are football schools. This game today between Penn State and Purdue is a game between a football school, Penn State, and a basketball school, Purdue, and yes, there is a talent gap year after year. Just look at the results over the last decade or so.
The only thing in doubt here is the margin. Currently Purdue is -15.5 at most books.. It was -14.5 when this article started, so some folks are on the same page as us here. Purdue is 17-3 on the year and after a 3 game slide looks like they are now clicking on all cylinders. Meanwhile Penn State is 8-12 on the year and pretty much looking for a place to lay down, not unlike an outclassed boxer.
We are short on time today and have to cut this write up short. Our models have Purdue winning this game by 20 points so we'll make a slight recommendation here on the Boilermakers as they continue their push in the Big 10 as well as Nationally. Purdue 73-52.
