The well rested Cowboys play host to the shell shocked Titans in an important
game for both teams. The Cowboys last played two weeks ago and stunned the
Texans. Their beleaguered offense and inconsistent defense came together in a
complete and dominating performance. Quarterback Tony Romo has completed 68
percent of his passes and thrown for four touchdowns. His injured offense line
is getting healthy which should made running backs Marion Barber and Felix Jones
very happy. Barber has a paltry yard per carry average of 3.5 while Jones is
gaining 4 yards.
This should improve with a healthier line. Wide receiver Miles
Austin is doing his job with 22 catches. Roy Williams has two catches for
touchdowns and rookie Dez Bryand has grabbed 14 balls for 158 yards. Banged up
tight end Jason Witten should be ready for a break out game against the Titans
once respected defense. On the defensive side of the ball, Cowboy linebackers
Keith Booking and Bradie James lead the team with 21 tackles...while super beast
Demarcus Ware has 3 sacks. The Cowboys run defense has been pretty good all year
ranking 8th in the league.
The Titans are still asking themselves how they lost to the Broncos last week.
Kyle Orton passed for close to 400 yards as the Broncos came back in the last
minute to steal the victory. The Titans once heralded defense is ranked 27th in
the league in total yards surrendered. The Bronco receivers constantly found
themselves open against the suspect Titan secondary. On offense Quarterback
Vince Young has completed 66 percent of his passes, while running back Chris
Johnson has galloped for 354 yards and 4 TDs. Wide receiver Nate Washington
leads the team with 14 catches which isn't saying a lot. The Titans like to run
the ball to set up the pass, easier said then done against a primed and ready
Cowboy defense. The Cowboys will want to make Vince Young throw the ball. The
Titans defense is lead by linebacker Stephen Tulloch with 38 tackles and safety
Michael Griffin with 34. Look for this group to be extra fired up this Sunday.
At this point, we simply don't trust the Cowboys laying 7 points. Not based on
the 3 games they have played thus far. In what figures to be a low scoring
affair, we'll take the touchdown here. Titans +7
