2012 Presidential Election Betting Odds

Obama Favored

Betting on Presidential Elections has been going on since, well, since the very first Presidential Election. In fact, some of the biggest wagers every made have likely been made on the outcome of elections. Big time gamblers have made some of their biggest scores betting on Presidential elections.

The 2012 Presidential elections figure to be very interesting. President Obama is the favorite to win on 2012 with odds of -125. Now, those odds have held for quite a few weeks, as this is being written in early April of 2011. When we first considered writing this article, several weeks ago, we were going to write that in Our opinion, betting on Obama at -125 was a slam dunk. Easy money. No one has emerged as a clear cut Republican contender. The closest contender according to the odds is Sarah Palin at 10/1, and frankly, she as absolutely no chance.

Ah, but things change quickly in this whacky world we live in. since the odds were first posted and we considered this article, plenty has happened. The Middle East is in chaos. We’re dropping bombs on yet another country. An Earthquake rocked Japan and created a potential nuclear disaster, and now, the government is on the verge of shutting down.

Now, right or wrong, the man in charge gets blamed for just about everything (even the earthquake apparently). That’s just the way it goes when you’re at the top. So, what we thought may have been a sure thing several weeks ago, is now, anything but.

Unfortunately, at the moment, there is no clear cut choice for a republican contender. However, if you can find one in the odds listed below, you could make one heck of a score! For example, Donald Trump. Hey, we all know the guy is filled with hot air. He’s all talk and won’t run. Strangely enough though, if he did run, he’d likely have a very good chance. Let’s face it, running a country is like running a business. The man knows how to do that! He’s also a PR MAChine, and this country could use some good PR from time to time. “The Donalds” odds are 50/1.
