Tennessee (3-2) looks to play ungracious host to the Houston Texans (3-3) this week in this match up of divisional teams from the AFC South. This looks to be a key match up since Indianapolis is down this year and the winner of this game mostly likely will look to be the favorite to win the division. Tennessee has been surprisingly tough this year including a win against Baltimore. Houston has had a mixed bag of big wins along with disappointing losses. Unfortunately injuries have hut this team greatly.
The expectations for Tennessee this year were pretty low, they lost head coach Jeff Fisher along with QB Vince Young in the off season. Now led by Matt Hasselback and Chris Johnson the Titans have played solid with their only losses coming to Jacksonville and Pittsburgh on the road. This team is not pretty to watch by any means but they win with tough defense and an opportunistic offense. With a win this week this team may crash the playoff party as a divisional champ.
Houston has probably been the team with the worst luck this year. The injury bug has hit no team harder than the Texans. Mario Williams the best player on the defensive side of the ball is out for the year and if that wasn’t enough Andre Johnson is out for a few more weeks and is this team’s biggest offensive threat. The Texans are a suspect team on the road as their only win on the road comes against lowly Miami. This looks to be a pretty tough game as Nashville is a very tough place to play.
This will be an entertaining game as both teams want to take control of this division. The home crowd will play a huge factor and will give Tennessee the boost they need against this short handed Texan team. Tennessee is 4-1 the last 5 at home against the spread vs. the Texans. I call for the Titans to cover as they win a grind it out game 28-17 with points coming off Texans turnovers. Take Tennessee to cover the 3 points.
