As we get ready for the Conference Tournaments, it’s a good time to take a look at who’s hot and who’s not. It’s a magical time of year in college hoops and while the cream of the crop usually finds it’s way to the Sweet 16 and beyond, as we all know, there are a slew of upsets along the way.
Being aware of who is playing well, who isn’t, as well as who is hot and cold against the spread can help you pick off both straight up upsets and good bets against the spread. For instance, Creighton, at 25-5 overall might seem on the surface like a go with team. But a closer look shows us that they are 1-6 against the spread their last 7 Games.
When bettors continually push money through the betting windows on a particular team, adjustments are made. It may very well be impossible to get a number with any value when looking to back a team like Creighton at this point. On the other hand, teams like Oregon, TCU and San Fran have been covering at an impressive clip.
