Week 14 NFL Picks

Here we take a quick look around the NFL for week 14 and offer a selection on each game along with a couple of best bets. It's crunch time now and we should start to see the cream rise to the top. The NFL should be the "M" FL, Mediocre Football League as there are more mediocre and just plain bad football teams than there are good ones. But down the stretch here the last few weeks, you should see a few teams separate themselves from the pack and establish themselves as forced to be reckoned with come January. Who will it be?

Ravens +3 -125 over Redskins -  Both teams off huge division games with the Ravens looking to bounce back after a loss and the Skins hoping not to have a letdown after a huge win over the Giants. Of the Ravens 3 losses, 2 were by a field goal or less and one, the Texans game, they simply didn't show up. We'll lay the extra juice to get +3 here.

Browns -6.5 over Chiefs - Chiefs rose to the occasion last week the day after the tragedy that rocked this team. Now that the initial shock has worn off, it should be back to business as usual for this Chiefs. Which means another loss. Look for the impact of what this team has been through to show up in a negative way, on the field, this week.

Chargers +7.5 over Steelers - Dangerous game because the Chargers may have thrown in the towel and their coach is a dead man walking. We keep saying the Steelers aren't that good, yet they are 7-5 and fighting for a playoff spot. We'll say it again. The Steelers really aren't that good. With or without Big Ben. The number on this game should be closer to a field goal. We'll grab the points and hope the Chargers show up.

Titans +5 over Colts - Just as the Steelers aren't very good, neither are the Colts. Yet, this team could end up with 10 wins thanks to the easiest schedule in the league. Sooner or later, the Colts will be exposed. But it may not be this week as the Titans are dreadful. Still, the value is with the Titans.

Jags +3 -120 over Jets - This is a game where you take the dog as neither team should be trusted as a favorite. Just two more BAD NFL teams playing out their schedules counting the days until they can hit the golf course.

Bears -2.5 over Vikings - Best Bet - Playoff contender vs. Playoff pretender. Pick the straight up winner and the cover will follow. Bears!

Falcons -3 -120 over Panthers - Best Bet - Very reasonable spot for an 11-1 team on it's way to contend for a Super Bowl title against a 3-9 team that lost to the Chefs last week.

Bucs -7 -115 over Eagles - Bucs need this one. Not thrilled with laying 7, even against the pathetic Eagles. But it's the only way to go in this one.

Rams +3  -115 over Bills - See the Jags/Jets write up

Bengals -3 -120 over Cowboys - Bengals aren't bad. Cowboys are. Both fighting for their playoff lives. Don't love this one but feel the Bengals are the better team.

Dolphins +10 over 49ers - Our model likes the 49ers by two touchdowns, and really, if the 49ers are going to compete for a title, that's what this one needs to be. But the Dolphins have pretty good defense that kept then in it with the Pats last week while the 49ers lost to the Rams.

Giants -4.5 over Saints - Simply looking for the Giants to bounce back after a loss here.

Seahawks -9.5 over Cards - Epic losing streak continues. The Cards manages just 6 against the Jets! Seattle defense shuts them down.

Packers -6.5 over Lions - Packers need this one to keep pace with the Bears. We'll take the better team at home laying less than a TD.
