Betting Trends

9/15/13

Well, the Eagles are no doubt everyone’s flavor of the week in the NFL after their performance on Monday Night in Washington against the Redskins. We’re not so sure we’d run out and drink the Kool-aid just yet though. No doubt Chip Kelley is just what this fraNChise needed. A shot in the arm, and Kelley may confuse NFL offenses for a few weeks but it doesn’t figure to last. We’ve seen similar attempts in the past. You also have to be weary of Michael Vick and his health.

That being said, we figured the betting trends would be in favor of Philly by a landslide margin, but that is not the case. When we take a glaNCe at the betting percentages at 5dimes.com we see that 58% of the action is on the Eagles this week. Where bettors seem more interested, is with the total, where we see a whopping 89% of the wagers taken thus far coming in on the over 55.5.

This would be a weak call for us as we aren’t believers in the Eagles. Though we admit that they may be successful for a few more weeks. So, tread lightly here, but we’re going to grab the points in this one and figure the Chargers can stay within the number. Chargers +8 (at 5dimes.com)
