The Pittsburgh Penguins are the favorite at 4/1 odds followed closely by the Chicago Blackhawks at +425, which is a tad more than 4/1. Unlike the NBA, the NHL has the potential to offer bettors tremendous value in every round of the playoffs. In the NBA, the top seeds are simply not going to lose in the first couple of rounds. However, in the NHL, all it takes is a hot goaltender and a little momentum to pull an upset and you can be sure there will be an upset or two.
