2013 College Football
BCS Odds and Schedule
Missouri's debut in the SEC was a bit of a disappointment to say the least as they struggled to find their footing all season finishing with a 5-7 record with only two wins in conference play. That's what happens when you get the short end of the stick as the two teams they had to face from the SEC West were Alabama and Texas A&M. Not quite the warm welcoming the Tigers were expecting. This season, they will once again play the Aggies, but the Alabama game will be replaced with a road game at Ole Miss. Nevertheless, it's not going to be easy for Missouri.
Missouri's current odds to win the BCS College Football Championship this year are a whopping 500 to 1 at both 5 Dimes Sportsbook and Sportsbook.ag
The Tigers will be returning 13 starters from last year's squad with the most important one being quarterback James Franklin. He battled injury most of last season which inevitably hurt this team's chances of much success. With all of his top receivers returning, Franklin will hope he can revert back to his 2011 numbers. Running back is a bigger question mark for Missouri as they will likely lean on Henry Josey who missed all of last season due to a knee injury.
On the defensive end, Mizzou's biggest question comes in the front seven where they are losing most of their players. The good note out of that is they will be returning their leading tackler and sack man. Somewhat of a strength will be their secondary where they will be returning most of their starters. However, no one had more than one interception last year for the Tigers.
2013 Missouri Football Schedule

Sept. 21 at Indiana

Oct. 26 vs. South Carolina

Nov. 30 vs. Texas A&M
Missouri's schedule is a bit nicer this season as they won't have to face Georgia and South Carolina in two of the first four weeks. Still, these games will not be free wins. Indiana has a viable offense while Arkansas State has reached a bowl game in two straight campaigns. And then comes the SEC onslaught.

The Tigers get to travel to Vandy and Georgia in their first two, then welcome home Florida and South Carolina. Talk about an unrelenting schedule. They'll get somewhat of a break with Tennessee and Kentucky at the beginning of November, but finish the season on the road at Ole Miss and at home against Texas A&M.
One way this team can turn around its fortunes is through the play of Franklin at QB. If he can stay healthy, there's a chance this offense will be able to squeak out some wins for this team. Otherwise, another five-win season is ahead. If Missouri can get through their non-conference schedule unharmed, six wins may be on the horizon.
