The quest to winning the SEC East will come down to the final two games for Missouri. The Tigers currently have a one-game lead, but some difficult matchups to finish the season. That starts with a road game at Mississippi, who is suddenly back in the Top 25 after four straight wins. The Tigers can be found as -2.5 point road favorites at 5 dimes sportsbook.
The Rebels haven't really had a tough game since beating LSU a month ago, but the fact that they beat LSU is good enough to be scared of this team. They have three losses, but they all came against Top 12 opponents.
The Tigers are coming off a bye which should help, but this is a team that continues to surprise. Even after beating dealt their first loss of the year dramatically by South Carolina, they came back and destroyed Tennessee and Kentucky in back-to-back games. That says a lot about this team.
Quarterback Maty Mauk may only be completing 52 percent of his passes, but his 10 TDs and two INTs tell the story. The freshman came in for James Franklin just over a month ago and no one believed in him. Now, it's an entirely different story as he has the chance to lead the Tigers to the SEC Championship game. WRs L'Damian Washington and Dorial Green-Beckham continue to be big pieces. Washington didn't have a catch last week, but he didn't need one after Green-Beckham pulled in four touchdowns and 100 yards. Missouri's run game isn't all that bad either led by Henry Josey with 760 yards and 10 TDs. Russell Hansbrough and Marcus Murphy also see time and can both get the job done. All three RBs average at least six yards per carry.
Ole Miss has a stout defense, but they aren't overbearing. Missouri hasn't really been stopped by anyone this year with their offense so it's going to be tough for the Rebels to contain Mauk and company.
The Rebels don't have a great offense either, but they are scoring when needed. Their running game is still struggling as they don't have a rusher with over 500 yards. Granted, Jeff Scott missed a few games, but that's still not a good sign. Scott and I'Tavius Mathers need to get it going because quarterback Bo Wallace can't do it all himself. To beat Missouri, you need to be able to run the ball. Wallace has been better than a season ago, but he's still not a game breaker, although his 346 yards against LSU was pretty surprising (even with no TDs). Wide receiver Donte Moncrief is one of his favorites and gets a deep route a few times per game.
Missouri's defense has been even more surprising than the offense, having not allowing more than 30 points to anyone. Granted they still have to play Texas A&M next week, but stopping Georgia to 26 points on the road is impressive.
The Tigers are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games and 7-1 ATS in their last eight road games. The Rebels are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and also 4-1 ATS in their last five home games. Missouri probably has the better team, but can they show that on the road or will Ole Miss get another huge win at home?
