Temple will host Navy in week 2 of college football action. Navy gave Ohio State all they could handle last week in a Game that was much closer than the final Scoreindicated while Temple upended Vanderbilt 37-7 showing they are eager to erase last season’s 2-10 mark from memory. Navy has opened as a -4.5 point road favorite at betonline.
Temple would be the ideal candidate for drastic improvement in 2014. They may have gone 2-10 last year but 6 of those losses came by a TD or less and one of those was a 3 point loss to #15 Central Florida. All signs that Temple was a heck of a lot better than their record indicated and beating an SEC team that was 9-4 a year ago, by 30 points, should hammer that point home.
If either team is in a position for a letdown here it would have to be Navy. They were looking ahead to that Ohio State Game all summer. That’s likely all they heard since the spring. Beat the Buckeyes. Easy enough to get pumped for Ohio State. You think they’ll have that same intensity for the Temple Owls?
Navy is loaded with returning talent and proved last week they can play with anyone in the country. Lots can change from the betonline openers as they often move drastically one way or another. Where the number currently sits on Sunday night, Temple +4.5, we’re not interested. However, we’d start to get interested at Temple +6 or better as this one is likely decided by a TD or less.
