Chicago Bears

vs.

Green Bay Packers

NFL Pick with Analysis

10/20/16

The Green Bay Packers are coming off of a tough loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Dak Prescott is continuing to make his case for Rookie of the Year. Statistically speaking, Aaron Rodgers didn’t have a bad Game at all, but in watching the Game, it was not an Aaron Rodgers’ type of performance. Aaron Rodgers has struggled all year when you compare him to himself. Rodgers does not look comfortable in the pocket and his receivers are not creating the normal space that we’re ACCustomed to seeing them create.

Jordy Nelson and Aaron Rodgers have connected on passes throughout the year, but they still do not appear to be on the same page. The Packers really did not have any healthy running backs on the active roster for the Game against Dallas. Eddie LAcy was ineffective and the Packers attempted to compensate for the injuries by using Ty Montgomery in the backfield on occasion. Oh and by throwing the ball 42 times.

The Packers have recently added Kniles Davis to the backfield. He had good success when given the opportunity in Kansas City so hopefully he can bring some of that success and talent to the Packers’ backfield.

The Bears suffered a tough loss to the Jaguars, dropping the Bears to 1 and 5 on the season. The Bears had control of the Game and were controlling the Jaguars’ offense until they GAve up 17 points in the Fourth quarter; that is simply unACCeptable.

The surging rookie, Jordan Howard, had a rough go of it against the Jaguars although he did puNCh in a one-yard touchdown. Ka’Deem Carey showed some pop in the running Game, averaging 5.6 yards per carry, but it was a small sample size of 9 carries with the long being for 16 yards. We’ll see if he eats into the touches of Jordan Howard, but for now, expect Jordan Howard to get the majority of the work albeit against a stellar run defense in the Packers.

Brian Hoyer continued to hum along, but couldn’t manage to do anything significant. Unless you count continuing to earn his role as a starter over Jay Cutler as significant.

The Packers are a better team than the Bears in all three phases of the Game. This is a rivalry Game on the ever sloppy hursday night, but there’s just too much talent on the Packers to let this one slip away. Green Bay -7.5
