Denver Broncos

vs.

Tennessee Titans

By Jason Green

12/11/16

The Broncos have won 2 of their last 3 Games, but in the killer AFC West they sit in 3rd place 2 Games back of the Raiders and a Game back of the Chiefs. Their end of the season Schedule is a tough one, as after the Titans they face the Patriots, Chiefs, and Raiders. Winning their division is a tall task, but if they finish the season well they will snag a Wild Card berth. QB Trevor Siemian has been banged up, but he is expected to return under center for this big AFC match up. Denver is still led by their defense, which ranks 6th in the league in opponents’ ppg.

The Titans have won 2 of their last 3 Games and even at only .500 they are tied atop the AFC South with the Colts and Texans, who face each other this Sunday. 2nd year QB Marcus Mariota has been solid on the season, but the big gun on offense has been DeMarco Murray, who ranks 2nd in the league in rushing yards. Tennessee has also been solid on the defensing side of the ball on the season ranking 8th in opponents’ points allowed.

The Broncos have covered the spread in their last 5 Games facing the Titans.

In their last Game the Broncos were on the road and beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 20-10 covering the spread as a 3.5-point favorite.

Tennessee was also on the road in their last Game where they beat the Chicago Bears where they failed to cover as a 6.5-point favorite.

Denver’s offense sputtered in the win over the Jaguars only GAining a total of 206 yards, but their D forced 3 turnovers. The Broncos have to be happy that Siemian is back, as Paxton LyNCh has been less than impressive when he has missed time this season. I mean in the win over the Jags he only passed for 104 yards and the team was only 1/13 on 3rd down. RB’s Kapri Bibbs and Devontae Booker will share snaps out of the backfield and in the win over Jacksonville they combined for 84 yards and a TD.

Tennessee’s D has been great against the run this season (ranking 7th), but has struggled against the pass (ranking 26th)

In their win over the Bears in their last Game the Titans had fewer yards than the Bears, but they did not turn the ball over while Chicago has 2 turnovers. Mariota passed for 226 yards with 2 TD and 0 INT and Murray had a down Game only rushing for 43 yards averaging a weak 2.5 yards per carry. It is the 2nd straight Game he has failed to average over 4 yards per carry.

Von Miller, who leads the NFL in sacks (13.5), leads the Denver defense, which ranks 1st against the pass, but only 28th against the run.

Denver is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road Games, 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 Games overall, and in their last 5 Games on the road the posted total has gone Under 4 times.

The Titans are 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 home Games vs. a team with a winning road record and in their last 4 Games at home the total has gone Over every time.

Bettorsworld Pick – Denver QB Trevor Siemian is currently listed as quesionable. As of this writing, there is no line posted on this Game. Check Back!
