When the Steelers decided to take control of the Game, the Washington Redskins came to realize that they are not at the elite level quite yet. The Redskins did however prove that they still have some fight and plenty of their own talent.
Not entirely sure why Josh Norman was paid so much if he’s not going to cover quite arguably the best receiver in the Game. Norman is built to cover bigger and stronger receivers than Brown, but if you’re going to pay a cornerback that kind of money at least give him an opportunity to follow the best player on the field around.
The Redskins showed life on the offensive side and were able to move the ball with Kirk Cousins and company.
Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys suffered a 1-point loss to the New York Giants. Prescott was poised and hit his underneath targets. While he threw 45 passes, most of them were relatively safe passes. The Cowboys did not really push the ball down the field. Prescott did have a touchdown pass to Dez Bryant called back. While it clearly was not a touchdown it was good to see them attempt to build some chemistry as Dez Bryant is one of the best in the Game.
Ezekiel Elliot never really got going. The Cowboys definitely tried to give him the opportunity as he carried the ball 20 times. They just couldn’t get much going, but expect that to change as the season wears on. Elliot and that offensive line are too talented for the Cowboys’ running Game to be unsuccessful.
These two split last season, with each team winning on the road. Prescott is certainly looking like he will be a longtime fixture in the NFL. However, don’t expect that to happen without some speed bumps along the way. That first speed bump may just come this week.
For many bettors, a team is only as good as their last Game. That’s why the public is all over the Cowboys this week. However, Cousins is the more experieNCed QB in thi smatchup and the Skins were a playoff team last season. Expect a much better effort for the Skins this week. Redskins -2.5 -120
