Jacksonville Jaguars

vs.

Tennessee Titans

Week 8

NFL Pick

10/27/16

In Week 7, the Tennessee Titans did not play bad football, they were simply outgunned by Andrew LUck and TY Hilton which is nothing to be overly ashamed of. This was Andrew LUck’s best performance of the year and it came at a necessary time when the Colts were at a crossroads between potentially winning the AFC South or falling behind the pack into an even lower level of mediocrity.

There were plenty of bright spots for the Titans to continue to build on. DeMarco Murray continued his onslaught on the rest of the league by eclipsing 100 yards on the ground oNCe again. He was also able to puNCh in a touchdown.

Marcus Mariota played a pretty good Game as well. You’d like to see his completion percentage be higher than what he had against the Colts. He probably could’ve used his legs as more of a weapon, but at this stage in his career, I think it’s more about progressing as a passer.

The Titans realize that they are not Super Bowl contenders so maybe it’s time to tone back on the hits Mariota takes and allow him to see the field through a pocket-passer’s eyes knowing that his legs can be a deadly weapon if necessary. Delanie Walker also showed up in a big way with 84 yards receiving and a touchdown. Delanie Walker is one of the most talented yet unknown TEs in the league.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were trouNCed by the Oakland Raiders. Coming into this season, many analysts had high projections for the Jaguars because of their improving defense and star power at the wide receiver position combined with a talented quarterback. However, Jacksonville has not lived up to expectations, but instead has continued to prove that history is the best indicator of the future.

The Jaguars have been historically bad and they continue to be a bad team. They’ll look to start proving these analysts right by going on a little mid-season run. Look for Jacksonville to lean more heavily on Chris Ivory to establish a run Game which in turn will help the talented receivers and keep Bortles from forcing throws into tight windows via the play action pass.

Our Pick – Titans -3 -120
