Jets

vs.

Steelers

Week 5

NFL Pick

10/9/16

The Jets are going into Heinz Field to play the Steelers who look to have one of the most ferocious offenses in the league when healthy. On the flip side the Jets have played terrible offensive football and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has zapped back into his old buffalo self, throwing for 9 interceptions in the last two Games.

The only hope for this one to not get out of hand from the start is for the Jets to use running back Matt Forte often by controlling the time of possession. The Jets will have to limit their turnovers for this Game to not turn into a route early.

The Jets have talent on offense even though wide receiver Eric Decker remains sidelined with an injury. The Jets rookie wide receiver Chris Enuwa has 23 catches this year leading the team. Enuwa has been a bright spot for an offense looking to find balaNCe in the passing Game.

Most football pundits would agree that the most talented part of the Jets team has to be their defensive line with Muhammed Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson and Leonard Williams. This week they will take turns playing against Steelers practice squad player B.J. Finney. Look for this matchup to be exploited this weekend.

The Steelers are almost at all systems go with the return of running back Le’Veon Bell who ran for 144 yards rushing last weekend returning from his three Game suspension. The Steelers also have the best wide receiver in the league with Antonio Brown, who has already caught 28 balls for 369 yards and 4 touchdowns.

This season the Steelers have a healthy Ben Roethlisberger under center who happens to be playing some of his best football to date. Big Ben has already thrown for 11 touchdowns to only 4 interceptions and 1,116 yards passing so far. The Steelers have a dynamic offense and a veteran defense lead by defensive lineman Cameron Hayward who comes into the Game with 3 sacks and is always finding ways to wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks.

The matchup to watch this week will have to be the battle on the outside between veteran All-Pro Darelle Revis of the Jets and All-pro wide receiver Antonio Brown of the Steelers. The Jets’ cornerback has been heavily scrutinized after the Game he had against AJ Green of the Bengals earlier this year and don’t look for the spotlight to dim down this week going up against the touchdown daNCe wizard, Antonio Brown.

We are going to see if the moniker Revis Island still exists and will it be enough to keep Brown out of the end zone this weekend. This Game will be fun to watch, but look for the Steelers to continue to roll on offense this week and pull off the victory in New York while covering the spread. Steelers -7.5
