The Redskins are now on the outside looking in, as if the playoffs started today they would be watching them at home. They have lost 2 in a row for the first time since losing their first 2 Games of the season and they need a win in the City of Brotherly Love to stay in the race. Kirk Cousins has played well enough, in my opinion, getting a new contract coming off the fraNChise tag, but his mistakes in the last Game in a loss to the Arizona Cardinals are ones he has to avoid in this division battle.
The Eagles have lost 5 of their last 6 Games and their last 3 and they need to win out and, probably get, help to make the playoffs. They lost to the Redskins in Washington earlier this season and after a great start the wheels have fallen off. In their last 3 Games Philly has not surpassed scoring 15 points and Carson Wentz has showed his rookie mistakes.
In the last 5 Games between these NFC East rivals the Redskins have covered all 5 times.
In their last Game the Redskins lost to the Arizona Cardinals 31-23 on the road and they did not cover as a a2.5-point underdog.
The Eagles lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 32-14 in their last Game where they were not close to covering as a 2-point road underdog.
Cousins has a ton of weapons on offense and he passed for 271 yards in the loss to the Cardinals with 2 TD, but he also was picked off as the Redskins were driving late in the 4th quarter and had a fumble returned for a TD. Washington has shown this season they need to run the ball well and Cousins cannot do it all and in the Arizona Game they only had 87 yards on the ground.
The Eagles have a decent, at best defense ranking 13th in the league defending the pass and 16th defending the run.
Wentz got off to a great start this season, with a less than stellar WR corps, but in the Eagles 3-GAm skid he has 6 INT and only 3 TD. He was intercepted 3 times in the embarrassing loss to CiNCy and Philly only rushed for 52 yards in the Game. Wentz and company will be facing a Washington D that only ranks 18th in the NFL in pass defense and 22nd in run defense.

Jason’s Pick: I am not sold on Wentz, but the Redskins, like they have most of the season, will make him look good in this Game. Still, Cousins will have a big Game bail them out and the Redskins will win and stay right in the heart of the playoff race.
