NFL Pick

10/8/17

By: Jason Green

Kansas City Chiefs (4-0 SU 4-0 ATS) vs. Houston Texans  (2-2 SU 3-1 ATS)

The In Week 5 of the NFL season the Chiefs are the lone undefeated team in the league. They had a tough win in their last Game, but Alex Smith is playing great, rookie Kareem Hunt leads a rushing offense that ranks 1st in the league, and the defense for KC has been solid.

At 5 dimes sportsbook this Game is a PICK with the total at 45.

The Texans evened their record at 2-2 with a win in their last Game and what a win it was with a HUGE Game from rookie QB Deshaun Watson in putting up 57 points on the Tennessee Titans. They are in first place in the logjam of the AFC South with three teams at 2-2. Houston is led by a rushing offense that ranks 5th in the league and an overall offense that is the 4th highest scoring team in the NFL.

These teams met last season in Houston where the Chiefs beat the Texans 19-12.

In their last Game the Chiefs beat the Washington Redskins 29-20 where they needed a late FG for the win and then ran in a fumble at the end of the Game when the Skins were tossing laterals all over the field in a last-ditch effort to score. In the 2nd half Kansas City came alive to Score22 of their points and for the Game they out-GAined Washington 429 yards to 331 yards. Smith passed for 293 yards with a TD no picks Travis Kelse led the squad with 111 receiving yards.

Kareem Hunt rushed for 101 yards and he leads the NFL in rushing by a margin of 140 yards over the 2nd leading rusher. He will be facing J.J. Watt and a Houston run defense that ranks 14th in the league.

The Texans scored the most points in fraNChise history in their last Game beating the Titans 57-14. They dominated the Game from the get go scoring 30 points in the first half and racking up 445 yards while holding the Titans to 195 yards and forcing five turnovers. Watson passed for 283 yards with 4 TD and 1 INT and he also rushed for a score. DeAndre Hopkins led the Texans with 107 receiving yards and while LAmar Miller and D’Onta Foreman combined to rush for 120 yards neither average over Four yards per carry.

While Kansas City ranks tied for 10th in points allowed they only rank 20th in run defense and 27th in pass defense.

The Chiefs are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 road Games, 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Games overall, and in their last 5 road Games the Over record is 4-1.

The Texans are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Games following a straight up win, 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home Games vs. a team with a winning road record, and in their last 5 Games facing a team with a winning record the Over record is 4-1.

The Chiefs are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Games facing the Texans in Houston.

Jason’s Pick: Watson is coming off a big-time performance and the Texans have confideNCe, but they will not get the W this Sunday night. KC is playing well all around and Hunt already has over 500 rushing yards after only Four Games. Houston will keep it close in their house, but the Chiefs will get the W.
