Raiders

vs.

Redskins

Week 3

NFL Pick

9/24/17

By: Jason Green

The Raiders have won their first two Games of the season and while they have looked good their have not played a great team. Still, they put up 45 points in their last Game and they are a 3-point betting favorite heading to the Nation’s Capital this Sunday night to face the Redskins.

At 5 dimes sportsbook the Raiders are 3-point favorites with a total of 54.

The Redskins picked up their first win of the season in their last Game where they had a great Game on the ground and came up with a big INT late in the Game that sealed their victory. Kirk Cousins has been pretty good, but has also made some mistakes. Still, he has the weapons and will be facing an Oakland D that did give up 20 points in their last Game to the New York Jets, who may have the worst offensive in the NFL.

These teams have not met since the 2013 season in Oakland where the Redskins beat the Raiders 24-14. The road team has covered the spread in the last five Games between these two non-Conference teams.

The Raiders beat the Jets 45-20 in their last Game where they racked up 410 yards and only GAve up 270 yards and forced two turnovers. Derek Carr passed for 230 yards with 3 TD and 0 INT and he has one of the best WR duos in the league in Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper. It is key that the Redskins get to Carr and in their last Game they had two sacks.

The Redskins held the Rams to 92 rushing yards in their last Game and they will have to deal with Marshawn LyNCh and a Raiders’ run Game that rushed for 180 in their last Game. However, 95 of those yards came on two runs and they will have to coNCentrate on trying to contain Beast Mode LyNCh, especially on short yardage situations.

The Redskins beat the L.A. Rams 27-20 in their last Game where they had 385 yards iNCluding 229 rushing yards. Rob Kelly led three players for the Skins that had at least 67 rushing yards and if they can run the ball and not make Cousins do it all Washington will have a great chance to win. In the L.A. Game Cousins was 18 for 27 for 187 yards with 1 TD and no INT and Jordan Reed led the squad with 48 receiving yards. Reed was banged up in the Game and he needs to be on the field and Cousins and new addition Terrelle Pryor Sr. (8 rec 97 yards this season) have to jell and get on the same page.

The Raiders are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 road Games, 9-4 ATS in their last 13 Games overall, and in their last 5 road Games the Under record is 4-1.

The Redskins are 6-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record, 11-5 ATS in their last 16 Games overall, and in their last 27 Games the Over record is 20-7.

Jason’s Pick: While the road team has covered the spread in the last five Games between these teams that trend will end this Sunday night. The Redskins will put it together in this one and Cousins will have a big Game. Washington will not only cover getting three points at home, but get the W as well handing the Raiders their first loss of the season.
