Rams

vs.

Jaguars

Week 6

NFL Pick

10/15/17

By: Jason Green

L.A. Rams (3-2 SU 2-3 ATS) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2 SU 3-2 ATS)

The Rams and the Jaguars are two of the more surprising teams in the league and each is in first place in their respective divisions. The Rams are tied atop the NFC West with the Seattle Seahawks, who they lost to in their last Game. They only scored 10 points in their last Game, but still rank 2nd in the league in ppg led by QB Jared Goff, who has the 7th most passing yards in the league.

At 5 dimes sportsbook the Jaguars are 2.5-point favorites with a total of 42.5.

The Jags have won two of their last three Games and their last win was a big one crushing the Steelers 30-9 in Pittsburgh no less. While they only rank 30th in passing yards per Game Jacksonville ranks 1st in rushing yards per Game, 5th in ppg, and tied for 2nd in points against. They are 1-1 at home and are slight home favorites facing L.A.

These teams have not met since the 2013 season in St. Louis where the Rams beat the Jags 34-20.

The Rams are 4-0 ATS in their last Four Games facing the Jaguars.

In their last Game the Rams lost to the Seattle Seahawks 16-10 in a defensive battle. L.A. had 134 more total yards and held Seattle to only 241 yards, but they turned the ball over five times. Goff had his worst Game of the season and while he passed for 288 yards he had no TD and was picked off twice. Previous to that GAve he only had one INT in his previous Four Games. Todd Gurley had rushed for at least 113 yards in two straight Games, but in the loss to Seattle he only had 43 rushing yards averaging a pretty weak 3.1 yards per carry. He will get a lot of carries in this Game, as the Jax pass D is solid, but their run D ranks 2nd to last in the league.

The Jaguars were impressive in their last Game beating the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-9 where they had five turnovers and two pick-sixes. The Jags had fewer overall yards in the Game and Blake Bortles only had 95 passing yards, but the team rushed for 231 yards with Leonard Fournette rushing for 181 yards with 2 TD iNCluding a 91-yard scoring scamper.

The big match up in this Game has to be Fournette facing a Rams run defense that only ranks 27th in the league.

The Rams are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road Games, 3-13-1 ATS in their last 17 Games overall, and in their last 7 Games the Over record is 6-1.

The Jags are 4-0 ATS vs. a team with a winning record, 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home Games, and in their last 4 home Games the Over record is 4-0.

Jason’s Pick: As much as it is strange to say this I think the Jags may be for real. They have a legit RB in Fournette and a good defense and the less that the team has to rely on Bortles the better. This Game will not be a high scoring one and it will be a close one, but at home in the Sunshine State Jax will win and cover.
