Washington Redskins

vs.

Philadelphia Eagles

Week 7

NFL Pick

10/23/17

By: Jason Green

Washington Redskins (3-2 SU 2-3 ATS) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (5-1 SU 4-2 ATS)

The Redskins are coming off a win and they may have a little payback in mind in this NFC East match up. They lost to the Eagles 30-17 earlier this season in the Nation’s Capital when on a very late drive Kirk Cousins was stripped of the football and Philly ran it back for a TD to ice the Game even though the in-booth rules expert said it was not a fumble. The Skins have won three of their last Four Games after losing to the Eagles in the season opener.

At 5 dimes sportsbook the Eagles are 4.5-point favorites with a total of 46.5.

The Eagles are hot winners of Four in a row and they can really take control of the NFC East with a home win in this Game, as they are 5-1, the Redskins are 3-2, and the Dallas Cowboys are 2-3. There has been no sophomore slump for QB Carson Wenz and the Eagles are a very balanced team ranking in the top 10 in the league in passing and rushing yards per Game, ppg, and points against per Game.

The Redskins are 6-1 ATS in their last seven Games facing the Eagles with the one ATS loss coming in the opening Game this season.

In their last Game the Redskins beat the San Francisco 49ers 26-24 where they out-GAined the 49ers 419 yards to 335 yards to keep them winless. Cousins was 25/37 in the Game for 330 yards and two TD and also rushed for a TD, but also threw an INT. He went for 1 TD and 1 INT in the earlier season match up with the Eagles, but in his last three Games he has seven TD and only one INT. He has a deep WR corps and two legit TE’s in Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis and in the win over the 49ers Chris Thomson and Davis combined for 170 receiving yards.

While Thompson had a solid Game catching the ball he only rushed for 33 yards, which led the Skins in the San Fran Game, averaging a weak 2.1 yards per carry.

The Eagles beat the Carolina Panthers 28-23 in their last Game where Philly only had five more total yards, but they forced three turnovers and had a late INT, which iced the Game. Wentz was solid passing for 222 yards with 3 TD and 0 INT and Alshon Jeffrey led the team with 71 receiving yards. In Wentz’s last two Games he has 7 TD and only 1 INT and he passed for over 300 yards with a couple of TD’s in the win over the Redskins this season.

The Eagles rushed for 101 yards in the win over Carolina with LeGArrette Blount     leading the team with 67 yards and averaged 4.8 yards per carry. He dies not have a TD in his last three Games, but has rushed for at least 67 yards in each oif his last three Games.

The Redskins are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Games following a ATS loss, 7-2 ATS vs. a team with a winning record, and in their last 16 road Games the Over record is 13-3.

The Eagles are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 Games overall, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home Games, and in their last 5 Games they have an Over record of 4-1.

Jason’s Pick: The Skins have failed to cover in their last Four Games on Monday night, but that trend will not continue. Cousins will have a big as will Wentz and while Philly may get the Washington will cover in what be a close Game.
