Tennessee Titans

vs.

Cleveland Browns

Week 7

NFL Pick

10/22/17

By: Jason Green

Tennessee Titans (3-3 SU 3-3 ATS) vs. Cleveland Browns (0-6 SU 1-5 ATS)

The Titans snapped their two-Game skid in their last Game where they GAve up 22 points after giving up 73 in their previous two Games. They are tied with the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars in the lead in the AFC South and while their offense has been pretty good they rank 2nd to last in the NFL in points allowed per Game.

At 5 dimes sportsbook the Titans are 6-point favorites with a total of 46.5.

And then there were two. The Browns are one of the last two winless teams in the league with the San Francisco 49ers and they are the home underdog in this AFC match up. In two of their last three Games they have lost by at least 10 points and they have not played well on either side of the ball ranking 31st in ppg and 27th in points allowed per Game.

The Titans have covered the spread in five of their last seven Games facing the Browns.

The Titans beat the Indianapolis Colts 36-22 in their last Game and they had lost 11 straight to Indy before beating them on Monday night. The Tennessee blew the Game open in the 4th quarter when they put up 21 points and held the Colts to only three points. They racked up 474 yards while holding the Colts to 297 yards and Marcus Mariota shook off a hamstring injury and passed for 306 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. Derrick Henry helped him out, big time, rushing for 131 yards iNCluding a 72-yard scoring run.

The Titans will pound the rock on the ground, as they rank 6th in the NFL in rushing yards per Game and while Cleveland ranks a respectable 9th in the league defending the run they GAve up 217 rushing yards in losing their last Game.

The Browns dropped to 0-6 on the season in their last Game falling to division rival Houston in their last Game 33-16. They only had 247 yards in the Game and after Kevin HoGAn was named the starter he stunk it up only passing for 113 yards and he had 3 INT in the Game. Head coach Hue Jackson GAve DeShone Kizer his starting job back, but there was a reason he was beNChed in the first place with nine INT on the season. The Browns did have 134 yards on the ground in the loss to the Texans with Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson Jr. combining for 98 yards and they will face a Tennessee run D that ranks 17th in the league.

The Browns took Myles GArrett with the first pick in the draft and when on the field he has been good, but he has only played in two Games and is listed as questionable for this Game.

The Titans are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 road Games, 5-23-3 ATS vs. a team with a losing record, and in their last five Games the Over record is 4-1.

The Browns are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 home Games, 6-25-1 ATS in their last 32 Games overall, and in their last 14 home Games the Under record is 12-2.

Jason’s Pick: the Browns have failed to cover the spread in their last five Games in the month of October and look for that trend to continue. The Titans will pound the rock on the ground and the Browns will be the Browns in that they will make mistakes and turn the ball over. Because of that Tennessee will win this Game and cover the spread.
