Green Bay Packers (1-0-1 SU 1-1 ATS) vs. Washington Redskins (1-1 SU 1-1 ATS)

The Packers are rare tie in their last Game against NFC North rival Minnesota. Green Bay has to feel a little lucky since the Vikings missed three field goals iNCluding a 35-yard one in OT that would have ended the Game. The Packers have Aaron Rodgers back under center and while he played well in the win over Minnesota his mobility was limited, which it will be this week as well.

The Redskins looked great in their season opener beating the Arizona Cardinals on the road 24-6, but then at home in their last Game fell flat in a 21-9 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. After two Games the Redskins do have the top-ranked defense in the NFL, but they need to run the ball well in this Game facing Green Bay, as Alex Smith cannot carry the team with his arm.

At 5Dimes sportsbook the Packers are a 3-point favorite with a total sitting at 45.5.

In the early season the Packers are 1-1 ATS with an O/U record of 2-0 and the Skins are 1-1 ATS with an O/U record of 0-2.

These teams met last in the 2016 season where the Packers beat the Redskins 42-16.

The Packers are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 Games against the Redskins, but the home team is 3-1-1 ATS in the last 5 Games between these teams.

In their tie against the Vikings the Packers GAve up 129 more total yards, but they played well against the run and also forced the Games only turnover. Rodgers passed for 281 yards with a TD and was not picked off and Jimmy Graham led the team with 95 receiving yards. Jamaal Williams rushed for 59 yards, but only averaged 3.7 yards per carry.

Packers RB Aaron jones rejoins the Packers backfield in this Game after missing the first two Games due to a suspension and if Green Bay can run the ball with a somewhat healthy Rodgers the Skins may be in for a long Game.

The Skins simply could not deal with the front-line D of the Colts in their last Game not getting a running Game going. Sure, Smith passed for nearly 300 yards and was not picked off, but he also did not have a TD. Rob Kelly was recently placed on IR with a toe injury, so Adrian Peterson and Chris Thomson have to get it done.

In the Redskins Week 1 win over the Cardinals they rushed for 182 yards, but in the loss to Indy they only rushed for 65 yards.

Key Betting Trends

Packers

1-4 ATS in their last 5 Games

9-4 ATS in their last 13 Games in September

Over record of 24-7 in their last 31 Games

Redskins

4-1 ATS in their last 5 Games following an ATS loss

5-1 ATS in their last 6 Games following a straight up loss

Under record of 6-0 in their last 6 Games

Jason’s Pick: The Skins were one-dimensional on offense in their last Game and Green Bay will force that to happen this Sunday as well. Rodgers will play well and the Packers will get the W in the Nation’s Capital and also cover the spread.
