College Football Weekly Look Ahead – Week 7
Last weekend Florida disposed of SEC rival LSU. This week another stiff test is
slated on the SEC schedule, this time on the road. The No. 2 Gators will travel
to Jordan-Hare Stadium and take on newly one-loss Auburn and look to continue
the impossible: run the table in SEC play. With a conference so deep and
talented, rarely will one of these SEC teams have a chance to win out and find a
spot in the BCS title game. Well, it’s safe to say if Florida does so they will
be in Arizona come January.
Chris Leak continues to be the rock for Urban Meyer’s offense to lean upon when
they need clutch plays, however freshmen Tim Tebow continues to amaze. The first
year quarterback rushed for a score and threw two more in the win over LSU. And
it was the Gator defense that came up big with three big interceptions on
JaMarcus Russell to frustrate him all game.
Auburn might have been looking ahead to this game and got punished for it,
getting routed at home by Arkansas, 27-10. Not only did their defense look
sub-par, but also the Auburn offense is not made for coming from behind.
Quarterback Brandon Cox is a nice player that can effectively manage the game,
but he doesn’t have the kind of arm to throw 40 times and go down the field
throughout the game

The Gators have dominated this series, winning eight of the last nine games
against Auburn. As well, Florida is 7-2 ATS in those last nine meetings.
However, the come in as slight road underdogs and in the last nine games between
the two teams, the dog is 2-7 ATS.
Auburn got pushed around easily by Arkansas last week, however they are still
7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games and are even better ATS in October games,
posting a 14-2 mark in its last 16.
Both teams come in even against the number, posting respective 3-3 records ATS.
Both have also hit the under more than not. Florida is 1-5 in the totals
category while the Tigers are 2-4.
The under is 6-2 in Florida’s last eight games as well as it being 7-3 in the
Gators last 10 conference games. The Gators and Auburn alike have two excellent
defenses that attributes to the under in their games. Florida is allowing just
9.5 points per game while Auburn, despite allowing 27 to Arkansas, is still
giving up just 11 per game.
Auburn has favored well in tight games, posting a 3-0-1 ATS in their last four
games as a favorite of _ to 3 points. Auburn is also 5-1 ATS in their last six
night games.
The under seems to be the consensus based on team trends. The under is 3-0 in
the Tigers last three games as a home favorite, as well as 3-0 in as many games
in October. The under for Florida is 4-1 in their last five following a SU win.
