NFLX Week 2 Predictions - We enter week 2 of the NFL pre season and if you followed along last week, you saw some coaches live up to their reputations as being coaches who like to win in the NFL preseason. Specifically, how bout them Redskins! Do you think Mike Shanahan wanted to prove that there was a new sheriff in town? That was the perfect pre season set up. New coach, likes to win, taking over a program in shambles. Those or the things you need to look for in the pre season.
Current BCS Championship Odds - Think Alabama is favored to repeat? Nope. Guess again. The current favorite, at current odds of +450 to win the BCS Title is none other than the Ohio State Buckeyes. Huh? The Buckeyes? From the ever so weak Big 10 conference? Those Buckeyes? Yep, those Buckeyes.
Southern Miss vs. South Carolina week one college football prediction - The first of many college football picks to come. No, it's not a key release (yet) but let's get things started! - Yes, it's the SEC taking on Conference USA and there will always be a talent gap between those two conferences, but were not so sure South Carolina deserves to be double digit favs in the first game of the year. Southern Miss took some hits offensively which is the reason for the high line. They lost their top two backs and 4 offensive lineman.
Odds Favor Saints to Repeat in NFC South - Last year was a magical run for the New Orleans Saints. Who Dat Nation thoroughly enjoyed winning their first Super Bowl last year and they fully expect to repeat in 2010. Don't get overly excited though, Saints fans. The Atlanta Falcons are full of young talent and they won't just roll over The Buccaneers and Panthers could make some noise too.
Odds Favor 49ers to win NFC West - The NFC West is perhaps the most wide open division in the National Football League. Recent years have seen the Arizona Cardinals thrive, but the days of the San Francisco 49ers may be back. The Seattle Seahawks are not without hope under new coach Pete Carroll. The St. Louis Rams will have a rough time this year, but they are making strides for the future. Let's analyze the NFC West and its teams hopes for the 2010 season!
NFC East Picks - The NFC East division will be the most competitive division in the NFL this year. With teams like the Eagles, Cowboys, Giants, and even the Redskins it will be tough to authoritatively pick the victor before the season starts. Interestingly enough, oddsmakers and bettors don't agree with our assessment of the NFC East. Where we differ is with the Eagles. They have the Eagles as the 2nd choice in the division at odds of +260. The Giants are +280 and the Redskins are +550.
AFC West Picks and Preview - The AFC West was full of craziness in 2009. The San Diego Chargers won the division with a record of 13-3 despite starting the year 2-3. The Denver Broncos rocketed to an improbably 6-0 start before fading down the stretch to finish 8-8. The Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders were as dreadful as ever in 2009, but both teams may have hopes for a better 2010. It should come as no surprise that the current odds favor the Chargers.
Penn State vs Alabama Prediction - September 11, 2010 - Never to
early to look ahead - this write up comes from one of our long time posters in
forums. - Flip a coin on your starting QB for the Lions, gone is Daryl
Clark. Joe Paterno has 2 QB's both frosh trying for the spot. Lets see how the
young QB reacts to 100,000 screaming rabid Bama fans on a Saturday night. The
running game is SOLID with Royster carrying the rock, He needs just 480 yards to
become the all time leading rusher in PSU history, Breaking Curt Warners record
of 3,398 rushing yards.

NFC North Picks - NFL divisions don't get much more wide open then the NFC North. 3 of the 4 teams have a legit chance to take top honors and the playoff bid that comes with it. Last year saw the Minnesota Vikings and gun slinging QB Brett Favre win the division for the second consecutive year. Fans will be hoping for the three-peat, but the Green Bay Packers look rejuvenated enough to make them work for it.
NFL MVP Betting Odds - Betting on who will win the 201- NFL MVP award and other NFL prop bets similar to that, can be both profitable and fun. It's similar to participating in a Fantasy football league as you will have a vested interest in how your player or players perform each week. The payoffs are hefty as well. Just about all of the MVP odds are 10/1 or higher with many that have great potential being in the 20/1 range.
Week One NFL Preseason Picks - We rarely play the first couple of weeks of NFL pre season. When we do play a pre season game, even in weeks 3 and 4, we generally play for just 1/4 unit, unless there are special circumstances that warrant a larger play. That being said, we'll take a look at some of the week 1 NFL pre season games and focus mostly on the coaching matchups to see if we can find anything worth taking a closer look at.
NFL Pre Season Contest - Dust off your handicapping skills and participate in our NFL pre season handicapping contest. The contest begins on August 12th. Contestants will pick 5 games per week and the winner will take home $200 cold hard cash. No strings! Get yourself in handicapping shape for the regular season contests!
AFC East NFL Preview - Patriots Favored - We pick Jets - The New England Patriots got off easy last year. They took this division with a measly record of 11-5. That won’t happen this year. The Dolphins and Jets are vastly improved. Both will present strong challenges to the Patriots this year. The oddsmakers and bettors, at least thus far, feel that the Jets have narrowed the gap considerably in the AFC East. While the Patriots are favored to win the division at +120, the Jets are close behind at +140 could become the favs before the season begins.
AFC South NFL Picks - Preview and Team Analysis - The AFC South wasn't much of a race last year. The Indianapolis Colts completely dominated their foes en route to a 14-2 regular season record and a trip to the Super Bowl where they faltered against the Saints. The Colts are back with nearly every starter intact and will be tough to beat. The Houston Texans made a late playoff push, but just missed. They will be strong this year. The Tennessee Titans will be much closer to the team from two years ago then the one that started with many losses in 2009.
UFC 117 Betting Odds Preview - Silva vs. Sonnen - Take a look at any mixed martial arts rankings of the Top 10 pound-for-pound fighters in the world and most if not all of them will have UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva at No. 1. "The Spider" has won 12 fights in a row -- last loss in January 2006 to Yushin Okami -- and all 11 of his UFC bouts. His bout against Chael Sonnen is the main event at Saturday's UFC 117 from Oakland, Calif.
NFL Pre Season Handicapping Tips - The NFL PreSeason kicks off on August 8, 2010 with the Hall of Fame Game and with it, we'll see bettors slowly start to trickle back to America's favorite past time, betting on football games! With that in mind, let's take a look at some NFL pre season football betting strategies. NFL exhibition game betting can be profitable if you know what you are doing. Handicapping the pre season is very different than regular season handicapping.
Betting Preseason NFL - From the archives - Pinnacle Pulse - The Pinnacle pulse was a series of handicapping articles we ran several years ago that was put out by pinnacle sportsbook when they still took on American clients. However, some articles never lose their value. Here's one about handicapping the NFL pre season. It's worth a look!
AFC North NFL Betting Preview - Analysis and Picks to win Division - The AFC North experienced something new last year when the Bengals dominated everyone else. I don't think the words "Bengals" and "dominated" have ever been used in the same sentence until now. The Steelers had an uncommon bad year, but in the past they have rebounded on those types of seasons to play very well. The Baltimore Ravens advanced to the playoffs with a wildcard bid where they thrashed the Patriots before exiting in the second round.
Hall of Fame Game Preview - Cowboys vs. Bengals - In this game we have Marvin Lewis and Wade Phillips. Wade Phillips has had a reputation as a go with coach during the preseason. Overall he has a record of 14-10 but closer look shows us that Phillips makes the effort to win in games 3 and 4 of pre season where he has a record of 9-3. During weeks 1 and 2 he's 6-7.
SEC Football Predictions 2010 - Why not save the best for last. Sure, it's open for debate, but the SEC, in our opinion, has been the best conference in college football over the last decade. It's the conference, of course, that gave us last years BCS Champ, Alabama, and is a conference deep in talent up and down the ladder. Just about every team has seen some form of success over the last decade, with even teams like Vandy and Kentucky shining. Then of course you have the teams like Florida, LSU, Georgia and Auburn which are dangerous just about every year.
Big 12 Football Picks and Preview - One thing looks certain. This will be the last year we will be previewing the Big 12. As of this writing Nebraska and Colorado are gone for sure. Nebraska to the Big 10 and Colorado to the PAC 10. The PAC 10 has extended invitations to 5 additional Big 12 teams. Most believe the Big 12 will dissolve. What a shame. It's amazing that this can happen in an area of the country where football is like a religion. As they saying goes, "Money Talks". That's what it's all about folks.
Notre Dame College Football Preview - Mediocrity has been a problem for this storied program. Charlie Weis entered the program and showed off his Super Bowl rings to bring in recruits. In the end, the offensive mastermind couldn't get the Fighting Irish to the BCS Title Game. Weis wasn't all bad; he had the high powered offense going well and he groomed QBs Brady Quinn and Jimmy Clausen. They rank 1-2 in passing all time at Notre Dame. Weis resigned at the end of last year.
Super Bowl 45 Odds - Dare to dream. That's our message to those willing to take a shot on betting Super Bowl 45 futures! Imagine those who bet on the New York Jets last season to win the Super Bowl, prior to the season starting. They received 50/1 odds, which means if they were smart, they locked in a huge profit by hedging a bit as their team made it all the way to the AFC Championship game. Super Bowl 45 will be played in Arlington Texas, February 6th, 2011.
ACC Coastal Division College Football Picks and Preview - Va Tech and Miami Hurricanes Favored - The ACC Coastal division, much like the Atlantic division, looks competitive for 2010. You can only toss two teams out of the mix, Virginia and Duke, who both might not be competing for a title, but will likely be capable of upsetting other teams plans along the way. Virginia Tech and Miami look to be the cream of the crop but North Carolina is loaded and will be very dangerous if they can get things going offensively. Georgia Tech also figures to continue to be a threat.
Brickyard 400 Odds - The most attended event in NASCAR is this Sunday's Brickyard 400 at famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was first held in 1994 and marked the first time since 1916 that a race other than the Indy 500 was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, also known as "The Brickyard".
ACC Atlantic Division Preview - The ACC Atlantic Division looks competitive for 2010. The only team you can really toss is Maryland. Wake Forest looks like they will be down a notch but you can't discount Jim Grobe and his bag of tricks. The rest of the Atlantic looks like it's a jump ball. No one really stands out as unbeatable. The oddsmakers feel it will be Florida State and Clemson fighting it out for top honors with Boston College on their tails, but NC State could certainly surprise a few folks this year. Our picks to win the ACC are inside!
PAC 10 College Football Picks and Preview - 2009 saw a team other than USC take the PAC-10 for the first time in a long time. That team was Oregon. The Ducks went on to lose in the Rose Bowl to Ohio State. This year the conference will be much more competitive. In fact, the Pacific 10 is one of the most competitive conferences in college football this year. There are 6 or 7 teams with a legit chance to take top honors. Oddsmakers agree that the two teams from Oregon take top honors going in as they are the co-favorites at odds of +250. Read on for our picks to win the PAC 10!
2010 Big 10 Football Preview - Buckeyes Favored to win Title - Things should get interesting in the Big 10 next year with the addition of Nebraska to it's ranks. For now though, it's the same Big 10. Which means the talent is generally going to be distributed as it's been for years. You have Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin and, well, it used to be Michigan, and then you have the rest of the Big 10 and an occasional great year from one or two of the remaining teams. As far as we can tell, it like more of the same for 2010. Check out our picks to win the Big 10 Inside.
2010 Saratoga Picks - Saratoga starts the end of this month. If you're a horse player you'll want to join us for this years meet. Our handicapper specializes in big races of which Saratoga has many. Last year our guy nailed several long shots and high priced exotics and this year figures to be more of the same. Details inside.
NFL Futures Odds - NFL FUTURES Wagers are an extremely popular type of wager, both among the recreational players and the professionals. For the casual player, NFL Futures provide tremendous bang for their buck. What other type of wager can you make and get 4 months of enjoyment from? You can pick a few teams, and bet them to win the Super Bowl, or bet them to win their division, then sit back and root like crazy for them every week. Chances are pretty good that your bet will be alive most of the year.
Conference USA West Division Football Preview - The 2010 Conference USA West division should see the Houston Cougars find their way to a title. Tulsa and SMU will contend but it's hard to imagine Houston taking a step backwards from last seasons 10-3 regular season mark. Let's take a look at the CUSA West division for 2010. Conference USA College Football Picks inside!
2010 Big East College Football Preview - UCONN - Pitt and WVA Co-Favs - The 2010 Big East Conference looks to be among the most competitive in all of College Football. It's really a wide open conference. The only two teams in the conference you may want to exclude are Louisville and Syracuse, both 4-8 a year ago and in the process of rebuilding. But you really can't discount either of them completely. Both figure to improve on last seasons 4 wins, which puts them at .500 or better and likely able to beat any other Big East team on any given day. Check out our picks to win the Big East inside!
2010 Mountain West Conference Football Preview - TCU Poised to Repeat - So, do you still think non-BCS conferences can't make a difference? That's exactly what Texas Christian University did last year by finishing the regular season undefeated and playing in the Fiesta Bowl against fellow unbeaten Boise State. They look poised to repeat as Mountain West Conference Champions. BYU and Utah will try and thwart their plans. MWC College Football Picks inside!
Tiger Woods Favored to Win British Open - Despite the round the clock media coverage of Tiger Woods and all of his "problems" off the course, one thing remains the same. Tiger Woods is favored to win yet another tournament. This time, it's the British Open at St Andrews where he has won the last two times the Open was held there, in 200 and 2005.
Conference USA East Division Football Picks and Preview - Conference USA East division has been very strong in recent years. Last year saw Skip Holtz's East Carolina Pirates take top honors and earn a trip to the C-USA title game. They won that game over East champ Houston. With Skip Holtz gone, ECU will have plenty of competition. They barely held off UCF last year, and UCF will be tough yet again. Let's take a look at the top teams in C-USA East.
2010 MAC Football West Division Predictions - Wide Open Race - The Mid American Conference (MAC) West division was won by the Central Michigan Chippewas in 2009. They didn't lose a single game to MAC foes and ended the year 12-2 with an 8-0 MAC record. Things look to be MUCH more competitive this year. Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, and Ball State all figure to rise as strong foes for the Chips and all others in the MAC. Let's take a look at the teams in the MAC West and their prospects for the 2010 college football season.
2010 MAC East Division Team by Team Football Predictions and Previews - Members of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) East division look poised for a strong 2010 season. Last year Temple and Ohio tied for the #1 spot in the standings, but Ohio won the head to head matchup tiebreaker. Both of those teams will be strong this year, along with Kent State, and Buffalo.
2010 Sun Belt Conference Football Preview - 2009 was the year of the Troy Trojans in the Sun Belt Conference once again. They finished a perfect 8-0 in conference play narrowly edging out Middle Tennessee State. The Sun Belt looks to be a two horse race again, but North Texas, Florida Atlantic, and Arkansas State are all solid teams this year. Sun Belt Free College Football Picks inside!
