Weekly Look Ahead – Week 9 - 2006
The match-up formally known as the ‘World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party’
takes center stage in the SEC this weekend. The 6-1 Gators face a Georgia team
that has dropped two of its last three and fallen out of the top 25. Despite
being ranked in the top ten, Florida has only covered three of their seven
spreads this season.
This game is played in Jacksonville, a neutral site, however Florida is big
favorites this year. The Bulldogs lost back-to-back home games against Tennessee
and Vanderbilt. They rebounded last week against Mississippi State. Florida’s
lone loss of the year came on the road to Auburn back on October 14.
Despite its recent losses, Georgia still holds a very talented defensive unit.
Only giving up 16 points per game, they face a strong Florida offense scoring
almost four touchdowns per game. Chris Leak and Tim Tebow form a dynamic 1-2
punch behind center and are both capable of having big time performances in
helping the Gators stride towards the SEC title game.

impressive. Allowing just 12 points per ball game, the Gators have stifled
opponents and only have given up 20 points once this season. Against the
Bulldogs, the Gators have allowed over 20 points just three of the last ten
