New Orleans Hornets vs. Dallas Mavericks
The Hornets have been nothing short of amazing all season
long, lead by quite possibly the new best point guard in the
NBA and maybe this year’s MVP in Chris Paul. The problem
with the Hornets going into this match up is that they have
absolutely no experience in the playoffs with this squad.
Chris Paul is pretty damn good and has turned this team into
a legit title contender, but he has done nothing in the
playoffs.
On the other side of the ball you have the Dallas Mavericks
who have been to the finals just two years ago and won 60
games last season with last year’s MVP Dirk Nowitzki who you
better believe is out to prove himself after his team’s
total meltdown in last season’s playoffs against Golden
State Warriors.
Not only will the Mavericks be extremely motivated but they
will have a very experienced playoff point guard in Jason
Kidd who will challenge Chris Paul every single game.
Even though this is a #7 seed taking on a #2 seed, this is a
pretty even match up if you ask me. You will be able to
determine how this series will go after the first two games
in New Orleans, if the Mavs can contain Paul and come out of
New Orleans with at least one victory, this series will go 7
games with the Mavs taking down the Hornets.
If Chris Paul can pull his boys together at home and prove
that he can play just as good in the post season as he has
in the regular season then I would expect the Hornets to win
this series in 5 or 6 games
The odds :
Hornets -145
Mavs +115
