METS GO FOR 3 IN
A ROW
6/21
Mets +105 over Rockies - At some point, the New
York Mets figure to make a move. They are better than a .500 team.
How much better, remains to be seen. But a winning streak like we
just saw with the Yankees is inevitable, so why not now. We get
Pedro Martinez as an underdog against Ubaldo Jimenez who is 1-7 with
a 4.85 ERA on the year. Ok, we'll bite. The value here is
tremendous. The Rockies have been playing great ball lately and had
won 11 of 15 coming in to this series but streaks even out. They are
still in the basement, which tells us this teams been playing a bit
over their heads. We think we get the better team with the better
pitcher here, at a dog price, and that translates into a long term
winner that we can't pass up. The Mets make it 3 in a row.

Cardinals +230 over Bosox - Any professional
baseball bettor (there are actually very few of those) will tell you
that there is no such thing as ANY baseball team that's deserving of
being a -250 favorite as the Bosox are today. Certainly, it's likely
that the Sox will win this one. However, it's not likely that they
would win this one 71% of the time which is what would be required
in order to simply break even here. Being able to have the guts to
back a +230 underdog is something that's required of a successful
bettor. 99% of those who bet on baseball games, will never back a
dog like that, because in their minds, they see it as a likely
loser. They can't grasp the long term aspect of the play, and that's
one of the things that will keep them from every being successful at
this game.
That's it for today folks. We had anticipated finding some value
this weekend but it hasn't materialized. But that's ok. There's lots
of baseball yet to play with plenty of opportunities on a day in and
day out basis. So be sure to check in daily as we'll be at it every
day.
