  • NFL Side and Total Parlay Winner!

    Sunday, November 2, 2003

A some what struggling defending Super Bowl Champs team Tampa Bay Buccaneers must defeat the Saints today in Tampa to not fall to 4-4. Last week the Buc's shutout the frisky Cowboys 16-0 to snap Dallas's 5 game win streak. Dallas putting up a big fat goose egg, just shows the quality and abilities of the Buc's D! The Buc's defense allowed a season-low 178 yards against the Cowboys, who came in with the No. 4 offense in the league last week. We all know this defense is one of the best that plays on Sunday's if not the best.

Tampa Bay is a hungry team looking to get things turned around and back on track which I feel they'll do today by downing the Saints putting together their first back-to-back winning weeks of the season thus far. The D is there and this team is stacked with talent, I'm expecting after getting the win today to see the Bucs put a winning streak together living up to the talent they have that's more than capable of doing so! They play three of their next four games at home, with their road game coming up next week against the Panthers who they are currently trailing by 2 games in the NFC South. ``We're a 4-3 team. We're not dead,'' coach Jon Gruden said. ``The heartbeat is still pounding.'' These words coming from a head coach who knows how to get the job done.

The Saints enter todays game defensively without defensive tackle Grady Jackson who was suspended for "conduct detrimental to the team" this week. Also Johnathan Sullivan rookie starting tackle, is questionable with knee and calf injuries. Jackson's replacement Kenny Smith is probable with a knee injury, and Rookie reserve Kenderick Allen is questionable with knee injuries as well. This opens the door for the Bucs to be able to put up more points today than they have been this season. Offensively Tampa Bay is averaging 104 rushing, including three consecutive games with more than 100 yards. Mainly due to the solid running of Michael Pittman who is averaging 4.3 per carry. While the Saints will be focusing heavily on stopping the Bucs ground attack while be banged up, watch for Gruden to spread the field in what will lead to a successful aerial attack meaning points!

The Saints are clearly over-matched here and the Bucs win this one covering the spread as an 8 point favorite. Overall straight up Tampa Bay is 6-3 in their last 9 meetings with the Saints, and in the last 4 contest Tampa Bay is 3-1 against the spread. The two teams when facing-off have had no problems compiling points. The over is 6-1 in last seven when the total is set at 38.5-42, and has gone over in the last 4 games.

Tampa Bay -8 along with the over of 39.5 looks to be a strong two team parlay for. WizardOfOddz would like to wish you all the best of luck today!
