The Sixers shoot for their sixth straight win over the Wizards when the teams begin their season series at the MCI Center.
Philadelphia beat Washington by an average of 11.3 points per game in sweeping the four meetings last season.
However, Washington appears to be an improved team this season. The Wizards are .500 after their first six games, and are tied with Boston for first place in the thus far mediocre Atlantic Division. Washington had its two-game winning streak come to an end Saturday, falling 111-98 on the road to Cleveland.
The Sixers are led as always by “the Answer” with nearly 29 PPG followed by the Big Dog’s 15.5 PPG.
The former Bullets will have that aforementioned sweep to carry into tonight’s game as motivation along with the fact that they haven’t played since Saturday and should be well rested. Washington saw the retirement of Michael Jordan last season and went right to work acquiring Gilbert Arenas in the offseason and drafting Jarvis Hayes out of UGA, who is 3rd on the team in scoring.
