  • Pistons v. Lakers

If you want to be a successful gambler, these are the types of games you live for: lopsided matchups, pace of game and deflated lines.

With a starting lineup that features four of the top 50 to ever play the game, the Lakers have the ability to compile a record number of wins this season. Even through all the off the court turmoil, the team is off to an impressive 8-2 start. The Lakers are currently riding a 3 game winning streak over Eastern Conference foes including a 5 point win over the Pistons on Friday at the Staples Center. If there has been one achiles heel for the Lakers this season it has been their transition defense, which has got them in trouble in a number of games.

The Pistons team is built around their "going to work" motto. Their team lacks a true superstar, and their success comes from toughness and teamwork rather than pure skill. This game serves as a return home to the Palace after a disapointing 1-3 West Coast road swing.

I have the Lakers heavily outmatching the Pistons in this game. The Pistons typically run a half court set and try to execute their offense and they are not the kind of team that can run and score a ton of points. This will also favor the Lakers as they will not tire and have to go to their weak bench.

In this type of game I love the Lakers -3.
