  • Serious Soccer Players

Just received an e-mail from my friend.
He's a serious player in soccer. He'd mentioned to me a book that he's using right now.

    Ladbroke (Gibraltar) Ltd.

    Anyone using them right now?

Their min deposit is $1750 (1000 pounds).

Min phone bet trasaction $375 (200 pounds).

No limits as far as I know. He used to place a bet of about $20,000 on one single game and no problem at all.

Good service but no online betting, guess just for serious player only. Also notice that their line that you can get online is different from the actual players that will get through the phone or fax. Um, thats interesting.

I would also want to know if anyone using Eurobet right now? I've checked their website today and it looks very attractive to me - their soccer betting options.

any kind of info are highly appreciated.

Not wanting to be accused of slagging of competitors carte blanche i'll state now that I work for Victor chandler. Ladbrokes are one of the biggest bookmakers in the UK and as far as paying is concerned you will not have a problem. However,if you show any sucess with your picks you will quickly find your bets limited. You could call it sour grapes but it is true.On the other hand {and I would say this wouldn't I }try Victor Chandler Superbook. We are the market leaders in soccer betting. We bet on all the major European soccer leagues as well as the Euro competitions and International matches. You can bet totals, correct scores and 1st player to score in many of these matches. We are on the web on www.superbook.com or give us a call on 1-800-9509515

I always thought that Ladbrokes is the biggest sports book in the world. Actually, it is exactly what is stated on their web site at www.ladbrokes.com

They offer online betting and they used to have very attractive Asian lines during Euro2000.

In all other respects I think this is a typical British book. Minimum trebles if you want to bet soccer, excluding international matches and several major leagues, almost no tennis, no totals etc.

Obviously, I know nothing about such bets as $20 000. Probably they have some special procedure for the players betting such amounts.

Btw, I just visited their site, they offer bets on Big Brother tv show. I am not sure if it is the same thing as Survivor, have not seen either one, but interesting anyway.

Yeah, if you had a dollar for every time a sportsbook claimed this, you could buy something cool. A lot more likely to be true in their case though.

            AussieVamp2,
Of course I know that. But I think it is true in case of Ladbrokes. I think William Hill is number two.

Well, it should be one of those - England perhaps the country with the biggest population and a fairly high betting shop per person ratio I guess, plus lots of cash.

Situation doesn't exist in any other large population-wise Western country I think?

Ladbrokes are no.1 in terms of shop numbers, with Hills a close second, but their online product/turnover is well behind Hills.

Chandlers have less shops, more of a racing firm, with their HQ now in Gibraltar.

Ladbrokes and Chandlers out Gibraltar will both take five figure bets regularly, but are both capable of cutting you back if you hit winners. You won't see anything about that on their sites because the big players are purely catered for by phone.

And if you're going to take those sort of bets, ain't no surprise they are often offered a slightly different number, because you don't have much choice where you go, unless you want to make 20 different bets of $1000.

The thing that annoys me about Ladbrokes is the time it's taken them to get online and co-ordinated. Take a look at
                www.ladbroke.gi www.ladbrokes.com www.bet.co.uk

There is no option to select for a home address in the United States. Does this mean they don't allow U.S. customers?

Maybe they were waiting to see what happed with the Kyl bill.
