    Thursday NFL Action

Now that regular season college football play has concluded, sports betting enthusiasts will be treated to Thursday evening NFL action, and the Royal Post has you covered. In this edition we take a look at the great Cleveland vs. Pittsburgh game and supply trends and prediction.

    Cleveland vs. Pittsburgh

Last week, Cleveland QB Derek Anderson threw two TD passes to Steve Heiden in the final 8:55 of regulation and then scrambled 33 yards in overtime to set up Phil Dawson's 33-yard field goal, giving the Browns a 31-28 victory over the stunned Kansas City Chiefs.

Before coming in for the injured Charlie Frye, Anderson had never thrown an NFL pass and had taken only one snap. However, the 23-year-old calmly rallied the Browns (4-8), who capped another dysfunctional week with only their second December win at home since 1999.

The Steelers didn't do much on offense for the second week in a row, but it didn't make much difference as they capitalized on repeated mistakes by Tampa Bay rookie QB Bruce Gradkowski to beat the Buccaneers 20-3 on Sunday.

Thursday, the Browns and the Steelers meet in Pittsburgh for an AFC North showdown. The two met in Week 11 when QB Ben Roethlisberger shoveled a 4-yard TD pass to Willie Parker with 32 seconds left, rallying the Steelers to a 24-20 victory.

Roethlisberger was intercepted three times in the first half, and threw for 272 yards -- 224 in the fourth quarter, as the Steelers scored 21 points in the final period in the first meeting.

The victory was the Steelers' first in five road games at the time and Pittsburgh's first away from Heinz Field since humiliating the Browns 41-0 on Christmas Eve last season.

    Notable Game Trends:

    - Browns are 5-0-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.

    - Browns are 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 vs. AFC North.

    - Browns are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games in Week 14.

    - Browns are 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings.

    - Browns are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.

    - Steelers are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. AFC.

    - Steelers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games in December.

    - Steelers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in Week 14.

    - Favorite is 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.

    - Road team is 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 meetings.

Anderson will be making his first start for Cleveland. Heinz Field is an intimidating place to play and Anderson will be tested. Nerves will be a factor and will cost the Browns in a game that Pittsburgh should win handily.

    Prediction -
    Browns 13 Steelers 34
