    Suns ML 2.05

The Orlando Magic has had a dream start for the season, but the reality slowly starts to sink in as they have lost 3 of last 5 games. Two big losses against the Clippers and Pacers could be explained with a long and exhausting away trip, but they haven’t been impressive at their home court as well, losing to the Pistons and beating the Iversonless 76ers only by 2 points. There are most probably several things affecting the team right now. First of all they have had those 5 games in 7 days, so the fatigue really kicks in. Also their opponents seem to understand that Dwight Howard is tough to beat, so they successfully do their best limiting the rest of the team. Over the last 3 games Howard has scored 73 of the starting five 168 points, which is a massive 43,5%. With his highlight dunks and strong rebounding Dwight Howard is fun to watch, but he really shouldn’t be carrying as much of the scoring load as he has so far in this season.

The Suns are on a 10-game winning streak and look like a team that is impossible to beat. Most of this success comes from the fact that Amare Stoudemire is coming close to his pre-injury form. He is averaging 20.5 points and 12 rebounds over the last 8 games. It is also remarkable how the Suns have been shooting the ball over the last couple of weeks. They have made 238 of 451 shots from the field over the last 5 games – that is a mind blowing 52,8%.

With Steve Nash running their offense and all the players being scoring threats it takes more than one player effort to stop the Suns. While the Suns are running (with no team being able to slow them down) their opponents need at least 3-4 scoring options to keep the games close. So far Magic`s offense has been rather one-sided. Having their 6th game in 9 days the Magic also could lack energy for being able to run 48 minutes. We think the Suns will extend their winning streak to eleven games and take them to win with medium+ stakes!
