The Kansas City Chiefs will be playing this Sunday without their long time owner Lamar Hunt who died late Wednesday night after a long battle with cancer. He was 74. Hunt is an NFL icon who had a huge heart and was loved by everyone in Kansas City and beyond. He moved the Dallas Texans to Kansas City in 1963 and was a major part of the old AFL and played a big part in making the NFL what it is today. The AFC championship trophy is named after him. "He was one of the most considerate, one of the most thoughtful and one of the most visionary people you could ever deal with," former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue said. The Chiefs may have a little extra motivation this week and San Diego could be flat after clinching the division last week. Stopping LaDainian Tomlinson won’t be easy though. Tomlinson has 29 total touchdowns this season, one more than Shaun Alexander's record of 28 set a year ago. The Cowboys hit a speed bump last week against New Orleans and will try and get back on track this week against an Atlanta Falcons team that is fighting for its playoff life and also fighting through injuries. If they win and the New York Jets beat Minnesota, then either New Orleans would have to beat Washington or Pittsburgh would have to beat Carolina to put Dallas into the playoffs.
"From here on, it's almost like it's a playoff game every week," Romo said. "We need to be ready to go this week and we will." The Cowboys defense also slipped last week giving up 536 yards of total offense to the Saints, the most ever against the Cowboys at Texas Stadium.
