    Knicks @ 3.60

If you compare teams records this should be more or less an equal match-up. The Clippers have a record of 13 wins and 16 losses, while the Knicks have won the same number of games and lost 3 games more. But to predict the outcome of the game you need to look not only the overall record, but also the form and a momentum two teams have and the Knicks have a clear advantage here.

Although winning in last 2 games the Clips are really struggling ever since Sam Cassell is out with yet another injury. Over the last 10 games the Clippers have won 3 and lost 7 games, including losses to Portland, Toronto, “McGradyless” Houston and a blowout losses to San Antonio, Utah and Dallas. 2 of their 3 wins come against the teams with serious injury problems: 100-77 over the “Pierce-less” Celtics and 98-93 win against the Rockets, who played without the T-Mac and lost Yao with an injury after 6 minutes of play. The Clippers managed to get a home win against the Kings 2 days ago, but though giving some confidence that really doesn’t make things to look better.

The Knicks at the same time are playing maybe the best basketball of the season. Ever since the brawl in Denver, which got 2 of their players suspended for the extended period, New York has won 4 of 6 games including wins over the top teams of the league – Utah, Detroit and Chicago. You can look at it as a fluke, but the truth also is that the shortened rotation actually might help the Knicks as one of the Knicks problems has been that too many players share the minutes. Stephon Marbury is looking like his old self over the last couple of weeks and with Eddy Curry at low-post, Jamal Crawford and Channing Frye sharing some scoring load the Knicks look like a dangerous team right now.

Sam Cassell`s absence is hurting the Clippers. LA does not only miss his points, but also the leadership and winning spirit he brings. Elton Brand has to earn his shots lately as Livingston and Mobley are not that successful of spreading the floor and feeding him with passes. The Knicks are on a high tide and this game should be much more equal as bookies want us to believe. Medium stakes for the Knicks to win.
