I'm a nevada player and haven't had a need for an off shore book. However the best game on the board in my oppinion this week is BYU +3.5 v. Air Force. I can't leagaly bet this game due to the location being in Las Vegas. I am thinking of going with an off shore book that has the game. I need info on the most reputable and best deals with lowest investment needed. I hate to send money when I can bet here at home but thats the only way to play this game. A little help please.

GSC has the same line of -3 1/2. I wrote a little thing about them in the Breaking News section (it's actually a pretty long report).
Good place....Minimum to deposit is $300 though.

What is going on with Easybets? It took 15 minutes to access then while I was making my wagers the system froze up and I got that dreaded too many users error message. Alan, you need to address these issues, it is a Tuesday not Sunday morning.

Try Sterling. They are reputable and cater to players(novice and pro) from the vegas area. www.wagepage.com.. I bet them over the net, but you can do phone or net if you like...

STERLING is good.
WWTS is good.

I have an account with Intertops and have been well satisfied with them. They have a low minimum deposit ($6.00 minimum) and a minimum wager also of $6.00. They have been around a long time. Their website is at
http://www.intertops.com

You might also look at the banner at the top of this page and click on one of those
sportsbooks. All of them are reputable.

Even if you live in Nevada it can be advantageous to have one or several offshore accounts. Being able to log onto the net, check some lines and place a wager can be convenient. Most offshore sportsbooks take action on games played in Nevada or involving Nevada teams.

There is no doubt Easybets pays but their customer service is not that good. I would give a 3 in a scale of 1-10. The only reason why I am still with them is mainly because of the lines are very comptetitive.

I don't think you can legally bet offshore from Nevada. Most books won't let you open an account if you have a Nevada, Wisconsin or Pennsylvania address.

I get those error messages all the time at Easybets. They are best used as an extra out since their server is constantly having problems.

Hatrley - Nevada I can understand, but what's up with Wisconsin and Penn.

Paul

This really varies from sportsbooks. Some dont accept accounts from certain states and others say its the responsibility of the customer to ensure its legal to place a wager.

One of the books I am with is
http://www.sportsbook.com
They dont appear to put any limits on where they will accept customers from.

These policies do change from time to time
and different books will embargo different states. They need to be checked out on an individual basis.

In Pennsylvania, you're just allowed to accept bets, not place them http://www.bettorsworld.com/ubb/wink.gif

In New York and New Jersey, you will not get in trouble for placing a wager. Different states have different laws. In California, for example, you will be imprisoned for placing a wager.

I don't know too much about online computer systems, but when I was in the Dominican Republic a few weeks ago the power went out at least 8 times in 1 week and there was not even a storm (this was the Northern part of the island). I don't know if this would affect the servers at all or if this is even the problem. At another extreme, the DR does have one of the more advanced phone systems in the world.

Santo Domingo is much more toward the southern part of the country and is in fact on the southern coast facing the Carribbean Sea. There doesnt seem to have been previous problems with power outages for either Easy Bets or SIA.

Well guys, I am calling all the people who have accounts with Easybets "before it is too late" to respond on this asap. We need to dig more on what is going on. We had been hearing
negative things about SIA and affiliation with Easybets. The only thing I didn't really want is they are denying affiliations with each other. So, if they are lying, how could we trust them, simple as that. For the meantime, and security purposes I will be pulling my account with Easybets today but in fairness with them I also need some inputs on what exactly is happening. Someone knows more on just what we hear. Thank you.

I guess I am wrong.

I used to think they are good places to place a bet. But seeing situation turned into this, I can't agree more - get your money as soon as you can and run.

Even if they are actually having a server problem, this will hurt them a lots and I seriously question what will happen after the football season.

After all, they are not the only one with good odds on dogs. And the bottom line is, wether you will be got paid should go first.

For those people who are worry about SIA I have made a call over there with its owner Jim and had confirmation that they do indeed have a serious Server Problem caused by the Installation of a new Web Application Software. Our affiliation was simple. We Brought our sports betting software from them and in return offer them office space and payment acceptance mechanism. Now that we have our own in house IT department and they have their own facilities we on longer share resources. I have no doubt that Jim is making every attempt to solve its Server problems. For those people who are worry about payout, I do not see any remote chance of financial difficulty at their end.

I had no problem collecting from them. But with all these negative postings it is just normal to feel uneasy about it,more specially if your account exceeds four digits. Now, this question is for the one who responded from Easybets. Who are you? How come you didn't mention your name? I know three people from your office. Is there a way you could reveal yourself and I will call you directly.
Thank you very much.

Anyone who is here soliciting business for THE BIG BOOK with their referral number should be considered a paid tout. TBB themselves may be a decent sportsbook but they should stand on their own merits rather than this referral program. Any recommendation for TBB that includes a referral number lacks creditibility.

Fatboy,
What does doubling up on your secure outs mean? What happens if you lose on the teams you bet with your secure outs, and win with Ace in the Hole, you probably won't get paid anyway. Then you lose double what you would normally bet in hoping you drive your balance down with Ace in the Hole. I must not be thinking clearly as to your logic.

Good Luck,

The both sides bets thing is a double-edged sword. I have a sizeable balance with Inetsportsbook(aka paradisesportsbook and a host of other names)that I cannot collect and had been doing the same thing.Worked well for a while and I managed to move a nice chunk of money to a paying book. Then a couple of bets lost and I started to give it back so I stopped. All in all I did move about $4k out of the account so it did help. It's a risky move but sometimes it's your only option.

BTW,just got today's mail,no check for me either.

Your "bet losers with a book that doesn't pay and bet winners with a book that pays" theory is salty.

You are just as well off using the "bet winners with a book that pays" strategy.
You will save phone calls and time.

rfd
12-15-1998, 02:30 PM
Actually it depends on whether the book in question is a "slow pay" or "no pay". If "no pay" I agree with you totally. Just bet a winner at a paying book. If "slow pay",a negative outcome is not necessarily a loss, you just don't know when you will see the money. Determining whether a book falls into the slow pay or no pay category is another question!

First of all, I don't have an account there. But I've followed the situation because one of my friend have an account in this place.

And this is his story.

He opened an account with $100 (by online credit card) and won some money there. Then he requested an payout of $600 about 3 to 4 weeks ago. But till this moment nothing arrived yet.

He called and e-mailed them many times and just received excuses after excuses. Untill several days ago, he received an e-mail as follows,

This is a classic!!!

While many places might require a credit card authorization form for a specific charge I know of no other place that requires you to authorize ALL charges made to the card.

"I hereby authorize all charges issued from AceintheHole to my credit card" .

I interpret all to mean any charge made to the credit card account -past,present or future-- at whatever amount they choose to fill in. Why not! You have already authorized it.

Also apparently they have edited the part where you have "5 days to return the signed form or your account will be terminated". That was on the bottom when I first received this form back in October.

All is not lost, Fats

I received an e-mail yesterday regarding my withdrawals stating that a check was mailed yesterday in addition to the check from 12/4/98. Also, funds were returned to 2 separate credit cards. Haven't been able to verify the credit card refunds but the check from 12/4/98 arrived today. The postmark was obscured so I can't verify when the check was mailed, but the check was dated 12/2/98. Should the credit card refunds check out I would have good reason to believe the last check was also mailed and perhaps this story will have a happy ending.

Hope you get paid soon,

I don't wish to belittle anyone who is having problems from collecting from Aceinthehole, cuz I've been burned before. But if you measure the time from request for payout to time you recieve using a monthly calendar, you'd best get off that wagon.

Consider the practice of Bowmans changing the line (nailing you -0.10) when you drop a wad on a team when they "confirm". People read all these snipes about this sort of thing here and elsewhere. While it may be a valid point, and one you can personally do something about (ie: go elswhere), the downside is that those that read it think "Bowmans is not a good place". To you, maybe. But to them, if they've never used it, they miss the fact that while this practice occurs, they do pay out, and in all other respects run a decent op.(ok, the server is a pig too).

Granted, people are free to choose where they put their money. But I think it would be far more constructive if people who are happy with a place say so, and when they slag another, be sure to BE FAIR about it. Don't paint them with one word if they have better points about them.

Fats, I may be wrong but I think Cashpumper's point is that there are a lot of solid books out there with stellar reputations for payouts, yet these sames books may turn off some because they change their lines, do not ofer bonuses, etc..., yet what good is it going with a book that offers inviting lines and 20% bonuses if they are not going to pay?
Anybody considering a book should begin with those listed at the top of this page as well as Bowman's and Intertops. Each of these books may have had some negative aspect at one point in time (except of course SOS) but bottom line is that they are ALL solid and the positives far outweigh the negaitves. I don't even recall seeing Ace In the Hole listed on the Sportsbook Survey. That survey had its flaws but one thing I got out of it is to be extra careful of those sportsbooks that did not want to participate. not that this is a scientifically proven measuring device, but I just have to question "why wouldn't they participate?"

dtana
12-20-1998, 09:49 PM
Forgive me as I'm new to this forum but
I've had similar experience with Bowmans
as Cashpumper. But what i don't understand is why so much time is spent by some on marginal operations. Why take
all these unecessary gambles on these outfits when there are at least a half dozen reputable books. What, is this all
about trying to get the 10 or 15% bonus.
So what if you have to use the phone as
opposed to online.

STING
12-20-1998, 11:03 PM
dtana, good point. Unfortunately, like Fats and myself, until we stumbled upon this forum, our main source of offshore info was either Pro Football Weekly or for many the radio. These are chalk full of ads from less than reputable sportsbooks. Most of the books that advertised last year are no longer with us OR ARE WITH US but going by some other name. Word of mouth is so very important (in fact I know GSC now gets the biggest percetage of its business from word of mouth) as well and there are a few other books out there that are solid that may not necessarily advertise heavily on this site.
Easybets has enjoyed a good rep as has Bowman's, Olympic, ABC Island, and Action Sports book out of St. Marteen. AS ALWAYS, DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

Hartley
12-21-1998, 10:02 AM
I can never understand these owners that have hotmail accounts as their e-mail addresses.

That alone should be a hint to stay away from the company. After all, if the guy needs a free e-mail account to handle complaints, then how likely is it he will be able or willing to pay customers?

IMO, any book worth a grain of salt will have an address at the company name (or service provider) to handle complaints. To me a hotmail address is essentially saying "I can't be bothered to handle complaints, so send it to my free account where I can ignore it."

cashpumper
12-21-1998, 10:53 AM
Fats, you were the last guy I wanted to bother. Your choice of posting here is EXACTLY the best move you've made so far. As Sting has said in his prior message, my point was to bring to the attention of everyone that what counts FIRST and FOREMOST is the book's payout practices and policies and their bookkeeping of your transactions and bets. If it takes them a long time to provide funds, or to provide you with your balance when you ask for it, you've got trouble (barring an OCCASIONAL system down problem). All good books pay, answer your questions to your satisfaction, and go out of their way to make sure you don't go elsewhere, and all without any delay.

Sting's point about people discovering "the truth" about sports books after discovering them through advertisements is gospel for many of us. When you step into the world of gambling through ads (in countries or states where you cant do it locally), its already a lost cause. The scammers target us knowing that locally their isn't much concern for a person that loses money gambling, even if he or she isn't being shafted.

What is unfortunate is that NONE of these magazines that carry these ads have any interest whatsoever in stopping the scenario you find yourself in. They likely know all too well what most of these scams are all about, but want the revenue the ads net them.
Since gambling losses are akin to admitting "stupidity", these mags likely aren't getting any heat from people their advertisers have burned. That, or they feel than can ignore the few that do complain, and ignore the problem. While I don't they are "responsible", I think they contribute to the problem by not carrying tips or info for those that wish to gamble through a phone/net bookie service.

This posting forum is a great place, but people reach it far too late in many cases. A "watchdog" and/or "gamblers tip" site that employs net advertising through banners could go a long way in spreading the word. Anyone who has been burned and who loves writing HTML could start something like this to catch people before they fall - a news spreader.

If I put up a home page, you can be sure that this forum would have a link with a prefix reading something like "Betting via Phone? Read Bookieshell Posting Forum here and learn where NOT to put your money." If you run a page, add this place as a link and get the word around. It cant hurt!

Unfortunately these places prey on those who do not have access to the internet so all the
web sites in the world won't help although it's amazing to go to other forums (even this one for that matter) and still see people recommending books that do not have a proven track record. In the next few years this trend should change dramatically, but keep in mind there are still people out there that don't have cable television so expect the scammers to have a thriving business for at least the next 5 years if not more. BTW, a still know quite a few people who do not even know how to use the computer and I would not expect them to be interested in the internet any time soon.

Don't think you are aware of the fact that until the emergence of this thread AceintheHole was on the Complete List, right there with Bowmans,Intertops,et al. And until recently, I(and apparently others) would have agreed with their inclusion.**** happens even with good shops.

I don't think Sting was necessarily referring to Ace in the Hole in his post.I think it was more of a general statement.

Either way,a couple of things need to be noted.

Yes,Ace in the Hole has been taken off the list.It wasn't however, just this thread. We received a couple of other complaints a month or so ago, which also came into play.

It also needs to be noted that those previous complaints were in fact taken care of,as it appears the complaints in this thread are as well.

The problem has been explained to me as a credit card processing problem......perhaps.I've also been told that Ace in the Hole is not necessarily in bad shape financially, rather just the opposite. But the fact remains, that there is an obvious problem somewhere.Whether it's a problem with credit card processing,or some other problem,it's still taking way too long to process payments, thus, they were removed.

Lastly, and most importantly,it needs to be noted that the Complete List,is simply a list of books that have received little if any negative feedback,as well as books that have been voucched for by players that we respect. It's an inexact science.

At one time we had a cream of the crop list, and at still another time we had a real complete list, that had every book we had ever heard of on it.We scrapped both of those, for obvious reasons.

rfd
12-22-1998, 12:21 AM
Didn't mean to imply that AceintheHole was taken off the Comlete List due to this thread, simply that the time frame of the two coincided.

Don't think it was entirely unreasonable however to assume that talk of "places who prey etc'" somehow referred to AceintheHole since the thread is entitled "about AceintheHole"

My point in posting was simply to say that you can "do your homework" and still have difficulty collecting. Best example I can think of is Dial-a-Bet,who I would have recommended to anyone--- right up until the phones went dead.

Thanks Oddswiz, and yes, I have been stuck in Bookieshell alone. That stems from having gotten the "enter name/password" when I tried to accessed a few other areas on Bettorsworld, and assuming then that the posting area were the only free thing going (I didnt bother to try everything in the main index after a few pass requests).

I'd been reading posts for quite a while before actually getting my own post account. Definately will snoop around elsewhere now.

Ace In The Hole has been receiving a lot of negative posts in this group. From what I can see, this book is very slow in paying. The only thing I would like to know is: Has anyone received a payment from them recently, and if so... how long did it take?
Thanks

Why would a sportsbook come in here and start their own thread about how they pay, etc.., etc.., etc... without addressing the thread involving posters who claim not to have been paid? Start a new thread to catch everyone's attention but ALSO address the issues at hand.

Just signed up with Canbet and I have high hopes. Although they have been around for a while with a phone service they have just started with an online operation. Right now they only offer Football and Basketball but they say they will offering a complete array of services real soon. They also are offering a 15% bonus on all new deposits (up to I believe $450 on a $3,000 deposit.). What I really like is that they will deposit any withdrawls directly into your bank account within 48 hours of your withdrawl request for free. I also like the fact that they are located in and are licensed by Australia. No offense to other books but being licensed by Australia means more to me than bieng licensed in some small carribian nation.

I had been using their phone service for some time and now use their online system. They're a good book. Payouts are always prompt. There are some changes I'd like to see. Hopefully the people at Canbet will read this. I'd like the games posted in Vegas rotation order with game numbers. They deal split NHL lines instead of the preferred Canadian line. Lines are posted late in the day. I guess they don't like working the midnight shift.

I use 3 books and Canbet is the one i use the most and keep the most money in. My main point here is trust, hell they hold a license that Bowman and WSEx applied for, and the only Nevada company whose lisenced for internet wagering is located in the same building.

I wish more people here in the states would wake up and smell the coffee, Canbet is so safe. It baffles me why people would send there money to some smaller two bit operation in the caribean (although nothing against some operations, WSEX (awesome) and Carib.

Hopefully Canbet will fix my two concerns as well, putting lines up earlier and putting teasers online.

Greetings.
Our internet service as you may know, is quite new. In regards to the games being in Away team alphabetical order, we are working to rectify this. Barring any difficulties, our games should be in LV rotation order by the new year. Apologies for the stressful times caused as a result.
Also, as we develope our software, we will continue to broaden our i-net service. Our plans for the near future involve offering a wide variety of world sports to add to our US sports service, as well as money lines and other wagering propositions.
Thanks for the support, and good luck for the new year!

Aces stoled my money a couple weeks ago. They withheld about $1500 from me. They lure you in by giving 10% signup bonus, then don't pay afetr you win. It's hard enough to pick winners, but when you do happen to win it sucks to be with a book like Aces.

I opened an account with $1000. They gave me 100 and another 80 something for transactions costs. I place 500 on the yanks at even money to win the world series and take the rest to the casino games. I get real lucky and win about 900 between craps and blackjack. I'm on the craps table with a lot of money on numbers and the point and in the middle of a row it kicks me out. It wont let me back in for hours. When I do get back in my balance was wiped out and set at 0. I call and ask them about it, they say they will take care of it not to worry. A month later I'm real worried. Finally one of the managers says they found the problem and would credit my account the money the next day. The next day comes and he says sorry he cant give me the credit because I know someone they dont like. What this person did to them i dont know, but they take it out on me and wont give me my money. Nice bunch of people huh?

With Canbet's on-line service being relatively new, I just wanted to commend them for a situation that occurred today. I was interested in playing the So. Ill.-Tulsa college hoops game, but noticed that they had Tulsa +5 when they should have been the favorite. All I did was give them my name and alert them to the fact they had the wrong favorite. I immediately hung up without so much as giving them my account number or requesting any type of reward. Therefore, I was quite surprised when I was placing a wager this afternoon to find out that they had credited my account with a $100 bonus. I realize that many of the more reputable books give similar types of rewards, but in this situation it was totally unsolicited, which makes it all the more impressive.

That is the million dollar question. Why do so many find it necessary to take chances with the unknown?

There's really only 1 group of players that has any business taking those kinds of chances, and it's a very very small group. That would be those who rely on ****** wagering as their sole source of income. This group of players are very successful at what they do.They play big,and play for keeps. They can afford to take chances with some of these newer establishments, and almost have to take these chances in order to succeed at what they do.

But the other players,95% of the players at least, have no business taking those chances. Not in this day and age, with all the information they need at their fingertips.

Any decent book will give you a bonus for pointing out an error - the amount of the bonus based on the sport and severity of the error.

Intertops and WSEX are 2 books I know of for sure that encourage reporting mistakes in the form of a bonus.

For some reason, online books are more open to rewards while telephone books - i.e. bowmans will give you a thank you and allow you to keep your bet - but will not reward you monitarily.

Don,I just have a few questions.Firstly, what other books are on the premium service that are not included in the 99$ service and have you decided what the final book on smaller service will be.

Secondly,I noticed that you post the moves on your smaller service. Are these moves derived from across the board moves on the premium service or just from the 5 books on the smaller service.

Finally,if I were to subscribe to any service it would probably be the premium one and I was wondering whether or not you offer a similar trial, even for just a few days to get a feel for it.

Fat Boy - yeah, you were right that I was quite hesitant about Easybets before simply because I was suspicious that they are affiliated with SIA. I pulled my money that time and just like you I didn't close my account. I had a 0 balance for quite sometime then I started reading positive remarks about
Easybets. Let me repeat this, about Easybets not SIA. I decided to give them a try again but not as big amount as before. And here is where I stand now. I requested for a payout a couple of days ago and everything worked out fine. Now, if you will ask me if they are connected with SIA that I don't know and I don't really care. As far as I know I am dealing with Easybets. I could still recommend them as a third or fourth book. Their lines are competitive and as you noticed parlays payout are a bit higher than others. Good luck to you my friend.

Don Best, You state that "We know what they play because ALL the wiseguys are our customers on the 500/month service". Because a wise guy uses your service, you know what they play? How? Second, I do not believe that ALL wise guys use your service. Maybe what you mean is that anyone who uses your service becomes a wise guy. This may be true. But a simple call to Caribi can give, in your opinion, the sharpest line in the world.
It is also a known fact that when certain books on your screen take a big hit, instead of feeding the line change, they are busy betting the moves themselves first. Then they post.
Is your service the best thing that has happened for the bookies? I think the answer is a emphatic yes, therefore making it the worst thing that has happened to the bettor. You changed the playing field, realy hurting the bettor. Where us bettors used to find many a middle situation, I do not waste my time trying to even find one. I was forced to take it out of my arsonal.
Don, you will end up killing your golden goose. Who will need you when every book uses the same line in the future.
best of luck, ashley

Island Express appears to use squares line for WWTS instead of their sharper steamer line. I thought the only difference was a two minute delay. How about giving it to us straight so we can compare premium service to island express. Are wwts,CRIS and Grande dealing separate lines to Donbest for premium service versus Island Express or is the difference really only two minutes. How about a separate answer for each of these three casinos? Maybe old man will chime in on this.

Previously in this thread you ranked the sportsbooks via line strengths by naming Carib as the tops, then 2.WWTS, 3.Casablanca, 4.Carib Sports. My question is whether you think those last 3 are as strong as Skybook, Del Mar and Grande? When I started with your service it was recommended from your staff to rank them in that order. I was also told that ABC and WWTS were significantly weaker. Please clarify.

Don,
I've followed the wiseguy plays on Linetrak and DBC in the past. Just a quick glance at your site showed me that their moves were 22-22 last week. Was that a bad week for them? I've always tried to blow it the first 3 to 4 weeks of a new season. It seems like the moves are alot bigger then, and also win at a higher percentage. I am looking forward to the NBA in Feb. because I remember moves were very hot last November. I am interested in comparing your service to Linetrak because if you are faster I would be interested in switching. I would pay the 500 a month if it was worth it. Sometimes I am faster than my outs and sometimes they beat me. I would like to win this battle. Any insight would be appreciated.

As we all know, having more than one offshore is the safest way to go. Rule of the thumb is ,don't ever put all your eggs in one basket. But on the other hand, it will also cost you much as double. Nowadays, sending funds are not a problem anymore, collecting is what everyone is concerened about. No matter what route you take, it will hurt you. I am just curious, with the tremendous increase of offshore business and with all these bonuses, free pagers, etc., just to attract customers. Who will be the first "reputable" book that will offer "GRATIS" in both ways? Whoever that will be, I am positive that it will draw a lot of attentions from us.

Good luck to all for this coming Superbowl!!!

jacmar, thanks for the several good questions.
Island 1 is the caribi book-one whose reputation speaks for itself. Island 2 is the Margarita Book from the island of Margarita. We are trying to use what we feel are the 5 "sharpest" lines available offshore. It would be difficult to choose one over the other.
You must hit the "refresh" button to reload the current lines. We found that systems that reload on their own can become confusing, especially during busy schedules, as you scroll down the page, and then are taken back to the top whether you want to go or not. I'll check into the highlight problem with WebTV and the refresh question as well. Thanks again for the questions and comments, we are trying to make this the best product available for the price.

Hi Dantanna
Thanks for your response. There is a refresh button on the webtv. It is just the hightlighting that is a problem. Also, are you sure that you don't have Island 1 and Island 2 mixed up? The reason I say this is that I am comparing your lines with Island Express, and their Caribi line seems to match exactly to your Island 2. I am trying to see which service is faster. Naturally, if they are both about the same speed, yours would be better because of the price.

I was wondering the same question on why the lines would be different so I called and found out that WWTS posts different lines. They have the wise guy line which I think Island Express uses and they have another line that Offshore connection uses. Actually, I could never bet into the wise guy line since I don't wager the kind of money needed to access those lines. I prefer the WWTS line that Offshore connection uses. Its actually a line I can bet into. And since this product looks to be geared toward us medium/small players who don't want to spend the 3-5 hundred a month for the other services why would I want a line I can't bet?

Just my opinion, of course. Marty.

Jacmar,I can answer your questions about "speed".

The Caribi line on the Feist product is not live. It's sporadically updated. The Margarita line at one time was live, however that too has also been delayed as of late.

Leaving SOS,Sterling and WWTS as the other offshores on the product, and as you mentioned, you won't be able to compare the WWTS lines because they have different lines on different services.

Marty: There are several very important reasons as to why people would want a line they can't bet.The sharper the line, the more value it has to the player, big or small.

jacmar
01-25-1999, 07:41 PM
Thanks Oddswiz. Would you say that for the price, that Island Express is the best value for the dollar? They seem to have the quickest updates and all of their Sportsbooks are pretty sharp. Do you think that Caribi would be the sharpest?

Caribi and Grande on a product all by them selves would be worth it.

I mentioned oddswiz and they stopped charging me the $95. The long and short of it is, since I have been using linetrak, I have been beating my offshore accounts to the moves.

Oddswiz: Thanks for your opinon, but speaking for myself I have to disagree.

I don't care about a so-called "sharp" line that I can't bet into. I'm using these products to give me lines where I have the ability to open accounts and place wagers. I do my own handicapping and I know what numbers I'm looking to get on games. I could care less that the "wise-guys" are betting this side or that. Plus, who knows what side they really want you to believe they are on just from the line moves. Countless times I see big lines moves in the AM only to go the other way late in the PM. I'm not looking to be a "middle" player. I have my sides and I know what number I need for it to be considered a play.

If I don't get the line, I don't bet the game. For a medium/small bettor like myself, I want a product where I know when I call that I'm getting the line on the screen.

And to solve your easy math problem. Dan_Tanna + Marty = two different people. And if you are going to try and use word problems, please try and get the spelling correct. It's "SHILL".

The moves are one thing,a sharp line is another.

If you're a handicapper, serious about winning, access to a "sharp" line can only help you.

I was under the impression that both the Island Express as well as the Offshore Connection were giving live updates. At least that's what their advertising said. The whole idea of signing with these places is to get the moves almost as fast as they change in the books. Offshore Connection states that their line changes are not delayed like other websites are. And Island Express states that their changes on their website are the same as the full service site with the exception of having less Sportsbooks. Vegas insider is as fast as anyone, but their books are limited to Las Vegas only. They have no offshore books. So which is the best way to go?

MV - so far this is the best deal I'd ever heard. "Free payouts (Fedex) for 5 plays a week". Nobody could beat that so far. The BIG QUESTION, HOW SOLID IS STERLING?

***It seems that you are decided to go for it, please inform us***

Thank you and good luck.

Udog

I wish I could tell you that I have some solid information.

Personally all I went by is the bettorsworld clink room and they are not in there.
Also I have yet to see a ligitimit negitive post regarding sterlings payouts.

I can tell you that I tried S.A.A and it turned out to be all B.S with the free pager thing and all.
Sorry that I could not be more informative.

MAX and UDOG-
I have a few "offshore" accounts and enjoy Sterlings phone clerks as well as the Internet bet taker, more so then any of the other books I deal with (more professional and "user friendly"). Payouts are faster coming from Sterling then they are from the others (1 to 2 days, "tops"), and you get linetrak free. Sterling is one of the books on linetrak. I use the service to view Sterlings lines, live, and to beat my other books to the "numbers."

One question, does any of their sportsbooks on linetrack have overnight lines you can bet into?

If not, when is the eairliest you can bet on cbb.

Thanks MV

Have to agree with Marty, whether a shill or no. I know what games I want to bet on before I see the lines. If I don't think the lines have value I don't bet. If the lines are OK I choose the one from my 11 books that gives me the biggest edge. I don't care how sharp it is. Recently, at least in hockey, the chance of catching more than a 20 cent difference between books has been next to nil. So no more free money. The books must be scanning each other's lines constantly.

MAX,
I can bet into Sterlings overnight Baseball and Hockey(wide line) lines. I was able to bet into the NBA overnight line(low limits) last year. I would call Dan Lewis up and ask him about it.

It doesn't take long to read the posts and figure out that bogieboy and emmitt52 are shills for Sterling. This is what keeps this board from really reaching its potential, to help players who want objective info.

BIGMONEY-
Sorry to disappoint you, I am not a "shill"
for Sterling. I am just "happiest" with the service they offer and the linetrak line service I get for free. If it will make you happy ( not that it matters if you are happy ), I also have accounts at WWTS, WSEX and Olympic. A few weeks ago, Sterling was getting a bad rap. I wanted to set the situation right again, as far as my dealings with them are concerned. I still think they are the best I've dealt with over the last few years and will post that fact until they prove me wrong.
P.S. If any one bad raps WSEX,WWTS or OLYMPIC ( or asks for info ), I will post regarding them also.

P.S. All Bettorsworld and Oddswiz customers, if you deposited with Sterling, received Linetrak and need grace periods, just call either office and inform us. We will be more then happy to take care of it. There is no need to get "pissed off."

I am baffled!!! No matter what we do, it is wrong. No matter how we fix it, it is not good enough.

Thank godness no one has complained about not getting paid, or paid late(you know, the insignificant stuff)...

Any suggestions???
