This will be 2nd meeting between those 2 teams in last 6 days. They just met on last Friday when the Mavs easily won 95-74. Bookies offered a line –6.5 for the Mavs on Friday as they played in front of their homecrowd. Today`s line basically suggests that this should be a game with more or less an equal chances. We have to disagree as we think that the Mavs are clearly better here.
Maybe the biggest problem for Dallas is Devean George`s injury. George is a solid defender, who is able to limit T-Mac`s freedom somewhat. Still, McGrady scored 20 points in 28 minutes a week ago and George himself got a donut from the field in 6 tries. So not having George will be a bit of a defensive problem as Avery Johnson probably has to try several defenders against McGrady, but Dallas will improve at the offensive end.
What bookies overlook here is the difference in quality between those two teams. The Mavs are 43-9 and Houston is 33-18 in this season. That is a big difference. Dallas has extended winning streak to 8 games and the way they play right now makes teams like Houston, that have rather one-sided offense, struggle a lot. No matter the away game we expect the Mavs to win the game relatively easy and take it with medium+ stakes!
