  • ILLINOIS at # 10 INDIANA Mens NCAA Basketball

Illinois travels to play 10th ranked Indiana
Sunday afternoon. INDY OPENS a 12.5 favorite.

    A LOOK AT INDIANA

The Hoosiers are averaging 82.6 points a game.

Excellent Free Throw Shooting team hitting
75% from the charity stripe. Indy also leads
the league in getting to the foul line this year
    as a team.

DJ White Sr Fwd scored 21 points and had
22 rebounds in his last game vs Michigan. This
kid is a force down low.

Eric Gordon, Frosh sensation who spurned
the Illini in recruiting backing out of a verbal
at the last minute is everything they say about him
Pure, Pure Talent, Gordon is averaging 23.5 points
    a game.

Gordon is on the verge to break the all time
scoring average record as a freshmen, currently
averages 23.5 ppg, the record is held by
    Purdues Glen Robinson at 24.1ppg.

Indiana will mix things up a bit on defense
but one thing is sure they play 40 minutes of
    Hell under coach samspon.

    A LOOK AT ILLINOIS

Illinois has lost 4 games in a row, not since 1998
has that ever happend and they continue to reel.

Illinois is shooting a Horrible 29% from 3 point land
and from the foul line they are clanking bricks
    in at a 50% pace.

Chester Fraizer of Illinois is hurt, this is Illinois
best defender, Fraizer suffers from a torn muscle
in his rib cage, it is doubtful he will start. He may
play but it wont be at 100% when he does.

Illinois staple is their Defense holding the
opposition to 62 points a game. Illinois has not allowed
any team to score more than 80 points on
    them in 42 consecutive games.

    THE FLOOR VIEW

Indiana will play 40 minutes of Hell, complete
with plenty full court pressure and move to
a solid ZONE Defense FORCING Illinois to
to shoot from beyond the arc.

I believe Illinois will turn the ball over
at least 20 times vs the pressure Defense.

Indiana will Live at the Free Throw Line
(remember they are hitting 75% as a team)

The inside outside game of Indiana will be
to much for Illinois. DJ White will have a field
day vs Shawn Pruitt, he is just to quick and
fast vs a slow moving wall.

Illinois has no one to contain Eric Gordon
on the perimeter, this kid will torch Illinois.

Gordon also has made over 100 free throws
this year already (only 4 in the country to do so)

The Hoosiers biggest weakness is Defense
which Illinois has no ability to exploit.
