Illinois 10-14 travels to the Frozen Tundra of
Minnesota to take on the 15-7 Gophers at the Barn.
This is a very unique court the gophers play
as it raised and quit difficult to adjust to as
a visitor.

A Look at the Gophers
15-7 (9-3 at home) Coach Tubby Smith from
Kentucky has inherited a scrappy squad of players,
not deep with talent, but he sure gets the most
out of his players.
Minny is a scrappy team, They are good on
Defense allowing just 62.9 per game, and more
impressive is the steals they generate as a team.
The Gophers have had 10 steals or more
in 12 games this year (against Iowa I think
they had 20)
Not a great shootong team, although they one
players who is lights out from afar when he shoots
the rock. (look for Illinois to paint him all night)

entering into this game.
Demetri Mccamey Freshmen Guard for Illinois
scored 31 points last game vs Indiana
(The most as a Illinois Frosh in 14 years)
Illinois Defense is also solid allowing
only 62.6 pts a game (39th NCAA)
Illinois 3 point D is even better at .399%
on Defense (28th NCAA)
Extremly poor free throw shooting team
which this has been a true problem for this team.
In fact this is true Coach Weber went out and
hired a therapist to work with his team
on Free Throws from a Mental aspect.
This hasnt worked for the most part.
MY GAME PREDICTIONS
This game will be a slug fest, Illinois
leading almost the entire game.
Late Illinois leading by 8 they head to
the free throw line, where they promptly miss
almost every shot, Minny cuts it to 2
and loses.
I look for Illinois to play the youngsters
a bit more which will open the offense up
as well as the flow of the game.
This is gonna be a Battle
My numbers show Minny by 1/2 point
I am taking Illinois and all the points the
book will give me.........
