  • FRIDAY tourney action

Ok guys...what are your top plays for friday?

As much as I don;t want to, the line has moved enough for me to look at Illinois +3 over UNLV.

Can they put one together? UNLV is quick but inconsistnet. Can Coach Weber gameplan enough to slow them down and will his team play hard for him? I need some honest insight here.

Also the same with Michigan...The SEC is soft as we saw with Vandy. I feel Tenny may have a team that could make a run if they get hot. Michigan is young and dumb and do not know any better. Maybe an OVER?

I do like Nova to beat G Mason as they finally put a game together.

Here's my top plays....I may not be able to post as I am going to the morning session and hope to or plan on getting tickets for the evening to see the Boilers...

Oakland +10.5 now, too talented of a team to get beat by DD by Texas. Like I said, I have seen this team play in person, and they qualify for my braket buster. Solid all around team.

Tennessee -1.5, this team was ranked early and the Pearl issue was probably a distraction. Who knows, it still could be? But, I will take a talented underachieving team over a team that I really cannot trust that is young.

Illinois +2.5, speaking of underachieving, this is the poster child!

Nice-like your plays! I am on all of those too. I am going in with an open mind with Illinois--not really expecting a win, but if they do, I will be happy. They owe me one. And I will not bash them if they lose!

I do like Xavier and Nova too. But the big east has been bad so far and I am scared that it woke Marquette up. I think either Nova or Marquette wins today. Hopefully Nova.

I agree with you on Nova too.

I'll actually do a small 4 teamer with the current spread.

This might be the last time I will have to be pissed at the Illini! LOL

Illinois should be able to get the ball inside as they have a definite advantage inside, controlling turnovers will be key vs this full court pressing bunch.

If UNLV's 3 point shots are not falling it will harxd for them to score inside.

I also like OAKLAND here and agree with TAXMAN on Oaklands talent.

I am going to take Michigan vs TN, The wolverines are playing some good ball at the right time and I cant stand Bruce Pearl

Tread lightly if you are considering Purdue today. As you know, Barlow, a very good defender that plays about 20 minutes was suspended for the tournament. Also, 3 point shooting specialist Ryne Smith received a bump in Sunday's practice and will more likely be considered to play for the game today as the bench is even shorter with John Hart's injury.

                So far:
                Oakland +10.5
                Nova -1

                Thoughts on
                Oakland/Texas under 157?
                Tenny/Mich over 128?
                Nova/GM over 137?
                Illinois/UNLV 135?

Damn, I'm in trouble with Oakland and the under. Oakland cannot stay with these guys. Oakland plays no defense. Will see if I can bail out at halftime with Texas. Oakland not deep. Texas will keep coming in waves.

Adding Texas -3.5 2H for 3 units to cover my Oakland play and my under 157 play.
Hate to chase, but Oakland is not playing any defense. Texas just gets layup after layup.
Banking on Texas locking down on Oakland 2H and Oakland wearing down.

Off to a 1-4 start. I really screwed that Texas 2H up. Hats off to Oakland for hanging in there. I can't believe they did after watching the 1H. I didn't get to see the 2H. I see Texas went up by as many as 16 and then let Oakland in for the backdoor cover.

Great call with Michigan. Wow! 2H by 26!

                            Adding:
                            Duke over 135.5
                            Nova/GM under 72 2H

2-5 as Jay Wright blew it for his Villanova team. Up 10 and up 6 with 2 minutes to go and he stopped playing. Stand around on offense waiting till 10 seconds to go into your offense. Just takes away your aggression and you wind up putting up a forced shot. They all do it. Stupid. They play scared not to lose instead of playing to win. Gutless coaches.
