  • Tuesday NBA...Blazers at Kings

    10.05pm ET
    Portland Trailblazers @ Sacramento Kings

Red-hot versus ice-cold tonight as the Sacramento Kings welcome the Portland Trailblazers to ARCO Arena.

The Kings have won five straight and own the NBA's best record at 29-9. Last night they routed the LA Clippers 125-100 and were able to rest Peja Stojakovic, Vlade Divac and Mike Bibby the entire fourth quarter. They are playing great ball right now and last night recorded an assist on 19 of their first 21 baskets.

"I don’t know if we can play better offensively than we did today" said Coach Rick Adelman. "It was fun to watch a game like that. This team is playing at a higher level than any of the teams we have had here in recent memory and today was a perfect example of why. Peja is such a great shooter and with us moving the ball so well he really took advantage of all the opportunities on offense we gave him. He was on fire. There are a lot of people I have seen that shoot the ball pretty well but none shoot it better than Peja."

Eight times this season the Kings have been installed 9.5 to 12 point favorite's and the O/U is 6-2 in those games.

The Trailblazers are off to their worst start in 28 seasons having lost six straight and 9 of 10. Despite having the second-highest payroll in the NBA, Portland are tied with Golden State for the second-worst record in the Western Conference. Their loss at Phoenix last night had coach Cheek and guard Derek Anderson in tears following the game.

Three of the Blazers last four games have gone Over the total. Two games back they combined for 212 points with the Mavericks and we wouldn't be surprised to see a similar result tonight. Portland don't bother too much trying to contain high-scoring teams...the Over is 30-20 the last three seasons and 4-1 this season when they face opponents averaging 99+ points per game. The O/U is 7-3 this season when the Blazers play Pacific division opponents. They are also 10-5 O/U this season when playing with revenge.

The Over has cashed in seven of the last eight meetings in this series and those games have averaged more than 209 points. In fact in their four most recent meetings they have combined for 215 points, 222, 217 and 232.

We expect the Kings to score more than 110 points tonight and with a little help from the Blazers will recommend the Over.

    Recommended Play: Over 203
