  • Michigan State at Illinois...Super Tuesday

Illinois opens up a 6-5 chalk at home vs the Spartans of Michigan State...

Something has got to give, as 2 of the Big Tens hottest teams collide. MSU is sporting a 4 game win streak, and Illinois is also on a 3 game streak.

Tuesday night in Champaign is "PAINT THE ORANGE IV"...Everyone and I mean Everyone will wear orange...The place will be up for grabs. This is a very important game for Illinois.

The Fighting Illini are tough at home WINNING 33 of the last 35 vs Big Ten teams at home. They own a 31-15 advantage over MSU at assembly hall. Illinois is also 4-1 ATS against MSU in games played in February.

MSU shot the lights out against Ohio State on the road. The Spartans have won 4 straight...

This game comes down to One Key element DEFENSE....

MSU does not play Defense well on the road, giving up an average of 75 a game.....

Illinois is averaging 80 a game on Offense at home, Holding the visitors to JUST 60 ppg...

    Illinois DEFENSE....

Vs Penn State allowing just 21% from the floor (Home)

Vs Michigan allowing just 35% from the floor (Home)

Vs Indiana 31 % holding Indiana scoreless the last 9:53 of the game.

Vs the Golphers, holding them scoreless for 11:38 minutes in the second half.

This game will serve as a proof statement to the young Illini team, either they are ready are not for the Big Dogs.

I say Illinois is ready to prove to themselves and the world just how good they are.....

Illinois will cover 6.5, my numbers show Illinois by 10

    Good Luck to all

I like the under in this one. 145.5 is just too much. Although MSU has been shooting lights out recently, they have not been doing other things well. They have relied on the outside shot way too much instead of utilizing Davis (usually because of early foul trouble). Also I would look for Illinois to try to slow down the tempo because MSU has been extremely successful when they get into a fast paced game.

Not to mention that this game is traditionally a dogfight as opposed to a track meet.

I would definately consider the under to be a strong play here. Unless this one goes to a couple extra sessions, the under should be safe.

    I'll be playing it big.
    Good luck to everyone tonight.
