    Carpet,

I just saw in USA today that the Illini could go up against Northenr Iowa in the first-round in Milwaukee. Pretty early to tell but if that would happen we could pick that game apart from head to toe. My brother is at UNI and know that team from the #1 guy down to their practice squad. With your Illini knowledge, I bet we can pick an ATS winner.

That is just something I saw but you never know if it will end up that way.

      Kansas will Fall early,

Gonzaga, St Joes, and Stanford over rated and will not make it to the final 4 games.....

I'll even go a little farther with that post. Stanford and St. Joe's won't even make it to the sweet 16. There is too much parity out there and their schedules hardly tested them.

        Here is my cinderella watch:
Look for E Tenn St.,W. Michigan and Nevada to possibly knock off a supposedly "better" team. I would love to see one of these teams square off with an overrated team.

I think Western Michigan will be a tough team along with Nevada.

They will fly low and surprise a lot of people.

          Okie State is solid also.

No respect for the Big ten at all

Wisconsin gets screwed a # 6 seed out East, after beating Illinois liked they owned them. Wisconsin with a win would face Pitt..a real tough match up game.

Illinois gets a 5th seed, what a 5th seed? The NCAA selection committee is in rare form sending Illinois to the toughest bracket of them all IMHO, DUKE, SETON HALL, ARIZONA CINNCI, NC, TEXAS, XAVIER MISS ST, this bracket is loaded....

Michigan State lands a 7 seed in the week St. Louis bracket.

Kansas recieves a # 4 seed ahead of WISKY and Illinois, this makes no sense to me at all

I know its the part of the country people are from that form many thoughts,so I will give my opinion.
              1 BIG TEN IS AWFUL
              2 ACC VERY OVERATED.
              3 ATLANTIC 10 VERY UNDERATED.
4 GONZAGA DOES NOT NEED A TOUGH SCHEDULE THEY PROVEN OVER THIS YEAR AND PAST YEARS THEY CAN AND WILL BEAT THE BEST.
5 TEAMS I THINK THAT ARE UNDERATED-GONZAGA-XAVIER-RICHMOND-CINN.-SYRACUSE-MANHATTAN-UAB-UNCHARLOTTE-NEVADA-MURRAY ST.
6 TEAMS I THINK THAT ARE OVERATED-ALL ACC TEAMS-ALL BIG TEN TEAMS-KENTUCKY-MISS. ST.
              MY NCAA CHAMPION IS GONZAGA.

Those are some BOLD predictions "noname"...Im not sure what evidence you have to justify your statements............

                1) "The Big Ten is awful"....While I do feel that this conference has had better years, to say they're awful is a litter harsh...Wisc, Ill, MSU have all proven themselves legit torney teams...All three teams should win their 1st round match-ups...that isnt awful

2)"ACC very overrated"....are you kidding me!...this might be the most dominating conference in recent history...their hype is justified

3)"Atlantic 10 underrated"...the commitee rated them generously...St. Joe 1 seed...Xavier- a team that wasn't close to making this tournament until they won the A10 tourney- 7 seed...Richmond- a streaky team w/ 12 loses-11 seed......the A10 is not underrated as shown by their seedings...this conference, if anything is overrated...

4)"GONZAGA DOES NOT NEED A TOUGH SCHEDULE THEY PROVEN OVER THIS YEAR AND PAST YEARS THEY CAN AND WILL BEAT THE BEST"....this is such a dumb statement....who did they beat this year that would be considered one of the "best" teams-nobody...the fact that you are justifying Gonzaga's team this year w/ past teams is ridiculous- one team has nothing to do with the others...come on now!

5)"UNDERATED-GONZAGA-XAVIER-RICHMOND-CINN.-SYRACUSE-MANHATTAN-UAB-UNCHARLOTTE-NEVADA-MURRAY ST.".....I think the committe gave each of these teams more credit than they deserve...just one note- Syracuse as a 5 seed is not over rated at all!

                6)"OVERATED-ALL ACC TEAMS-ALL BIG TEN TEAMS-KENTUCKY-MISS. ST.
MY NCAA CHAMPION IS GONZAGA."....Probably the biggest laugher...ACC deserves alll respect it gets...Big ten hasnt gotten much respect, but what they have gotten has been justified...Kentucky has shown no flaws and is the best team right now...Miss St. hade one of the most surprising seasons in the country....and Finally Gonzaga would have to beat- MSU, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, hust to get to the final four!...I think they should get to the sweet 16 (although they may not)...and would be extreemly lucky to advance to the elite 8, to meet kentucky....sorry but Gonzaga will not come out of St. Louis!

Just a quick opinion on this years tourney..
I dont think we are going to see any big upsets, as in recent years past....maybe one sleeper, but i see a ACC/SEC/BIGEAST/BIG12 driven tournamet...i cant see any A10, CUSA, PAC10, or Mid-majors getting to the elite 8...

Early final four selection: Kentucky, Okla st., Uconn, N. Carolina

                  GOOD LUCK!

cbraun77 this is why we have these games to discuss our opinions and to see who is better.I am telling you and predicting that the big 10 gets beat early.illni-wisconsin-mich.st-will all lose in the first round.ACC- Maryland-UNC-WILL lose first round, with other ACC teams losing shortly thereafter.kentucky also gone before sweet 16 or in sweet 16.
Regarding Atlantic10 IMHO I see St.joes in sweet16 and further,I see Xavier in sweet16 or further,I see Richmond with a win and a effort in their second game matchup in which they can upset .dayton not sure what happens with them but they will win 1 or 2 games.
AS for GONZAGA I STICK BY MY STATEMENT THAT THEY WILL WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AND YES THEY DO HAVE HISTORY ON THEIR SIDE AND THIS IS THE BEST GONZAGA TEAM IN THE SCHOOLS HISTORY.I AM A EAST COAST BOY SO THIS IS ODD FOR ME TO PICK THIS TEAM BUT THEY HAVE GOOD GUARDS-GOOD REBOUNDER-GOOD BIG MAN ALL NEED FOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RUN-----LET GAMES BEGIN AND THEN SEE HOW WRONG I CAN BE.

A few comments on the posts I've seen so far:

                      1. Noname saying that all teams in the Big 10 are overrated. I guess I don't understand this statement. Although the league has had an off year, the three teams that made the tourney are head and shoulders above the rest of the conference. And the fact that they were given 5,6 and 7 seeds shows that they have absolutely no respect.

                      2. I happen to agree that the ACC is overrated, in my mind GTech has the best shot of doing something in the tourney.

                      3. Gonzaga will not win the national championship this year. While they are fun to watch and a good story, they don't have the skill to get by GTech and Kentucky.

                      4. There will be upsets this year. There always are and that's what makes the tourney great. My pick is Western Michigan. They've got some bruisers up front and a guard you can score in bunches.

But this is March and anything can happen.

No Name I must disagree with your comments.

There is no way Illinois loses to murray State game one, There is no way Wisconsin loses to Richmond and Michigan State will beat N Iowa.

The last time the Big 10 got slighted they won all 5 first round games.

Gonzaga lands in the weakest of all 4 brackets, lucky for them, but I think Valpo will give them a run for their money right out the gate. No way the Zags will beat a good Georgia Tech team.

                          Illinois vs Murray State news

                          Two MSU Basketball Players Arrested

                          Staff Report

                          Sunday, March 14, 2004

Kelvin Brown and Adam Chiles were arrested and jailed yesterday on charges of theft-unlawfully taking under $300, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia. They were released from Calloway County Jail Saturday evening. Brown is Murray State's 2nd leading scorer and 3rd leading rebounder. Chiles is the Racers leading assist man and averages just over 10 points per game. Rick Lamkin is the attorney for both players. He issued the following statement, "My clients are innocent and it is my belief that they have been overcharged. I am confident these charges will be dropped or they will be acquitted." According to Murray State Athletic Director E.W. Dennison, "We are investigating the alleged incident involving the two student-athletes. As in the past, we will take the appropriate action when our investigation is concluded."

Going to start capping as many games as time allows and I will track results here

Florida -5.5 vs Manhattan, This is a no brainer, just one look at the teams each have played this year is your answer, FLORIDA by 9.0

Maryland -7.0 vs Texas El Paso, UTEP plays poor away from home, Maryland rolls by 11.0

Louisville -1.0 vs Xavier, Louisville is 4-12 ATS last 16 games, while Xavier is 9-1 last 10...The wrong team is favored here...
Xavier is red hot....Xavier by 4.0
