  • Schottenheimer is an idiot!

I tell you what....only Marty fucking Schottenheimer could find a way to lose this game. The Chargers held the edge in:
    total yds - 284-206
    rushing yds - 150-56
    turnovers - 3-1
    offensive plays - 65-53
average gain per play - +1 yd both rushing and passing
    time of possession - 33:42-26:18

I counted at least 3 times the Chargers had it near the Ravens 30 yd line and only came away with 3 pts. One missed FG, one botched FG and one made FG.
They had a 3rd and 1 at the 30 and went for the fucking end zone! You got Lorenzo Neal, LaDanian Tomlinson and Michael Turner and instead of running for the 1st down you go for the fucking end zone and settle for a FG!?!? Then on a 3rd and 6 at the 30 late in the game with only a 6 pt lead you run and settle for a FG attempt (which was botched)??? WTF??? If that coach had any balls or brains the score would have been about 24-7 going into the 4th quarter. This guy thinks he can sit on a fucking 6 pt lead for 3 quarters?!?! Only owners as dumb as the Spanos would have kept this guy around as long as he's been here. He does this shit time and time again...over and over and fucking over!

You're right, it appeared that the Chargers were the better team and they should have had it wrapped up. Marty doesn't trust his "rookie" QB Rivers and for good reason. But he could have manage this game better for his team.

Chargers are a good team, but you lose some covers with Marty at the helm. He'll always sit on a lead and go conservative.

Hey Dragon I feel for you pal but Schottenheimer is so notorious for "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory", that I even quoted his style of coaching as "Martyball" in a post here during last years playoffs.

I stated that even though the Chargers had the better team than it's opponent, that they would probably resort to playing "Martyball" and find a way to lose.....they did........He's been doing this shit since his days at Cleveland......Year in and year out (during the Bernie Kosar years) he would find a way to make the wrong call and keep the Browns out of the Super Bowl........One year it was "The Drive".....another year it was "The Fumble".....and then he followed it up in his years at Kansas City, never making it to the Super Bowl with some pretty high-quality teams.........The Rams used to have a coach like that back in the 70"s named Chuck Knox, and then names like Jim Mora and Tony Dungy come to mind.......Always having far superior teams underachieve with rediculous play selection........I didn't play the game yesterday in part because I hate the Chargers, and Baltimore being as unpredictable as they are, I just couldn't get involved......but I feel bad for those that did.
        ;)
