NIT Looks

This is the point to lool at which teams may be pissed and unmotivated to even care about playing hoops anymore...There is soe money to be made as everyone is focusing on the big dance now!

My top 3 rankings of who does not give too shits about the damn NIT and who to play on...Please give me your insight on these too guys!!

1. Arizona State (Alabama State +19)...My fav play on the board right now. ASU could care less and now they are giving 19 points to a team that is happy to be playing post season hoops. If i had an NIT GOY bull-shit, this may be it.

2. Syracuse (Robert Morris +14.5)

3. UMass (Steve F Austin +10)


I think Dayton is on the bubble as to if they really want to be here along with Florida State.

I like Akron +8 over FSU too.

College Basketball Invitational (CBI) Tournament

2008 will mark the inaugural College Basketball Invitational (CBI) Tournament featuring 16 deserving teams who do not get the opportunity to play in the NCAA or NIT Tournaments. As a result of the addition of the CBI Tournament, 113 Division I basketball teams will continue their seasons after the conclusion of conference tournament games. According to the CBI's official Web site, "teams will be invited based upon their performance during their conference and non-conference schedule, as well as how well the team is playing at the end of the regular season." Unique to the new CBI Tournament will be the CBI Championship Series, a three-game series between the final two teams to determine the CBI Championship.

Along the same lines as Woodies post, the NIT is a good spot for teams on the way up. Teams that are actually happy to be here and might be thrilled to win the NIT. The NIT becomes a stepping stone.

Minnesota would be an example. They finished 9-22 last year. 16-15 the year before that. This year they bring in Tubby Smith and finish with a 20-13 mark. The big dance would have been nice, but after a 9-22 year, an NIT title would be a nice stepping stone.

Horseshit is the only way I can describe that Coppin State loss. Free throws killed the back door cover. I juts put 1/2 unit on it late b/c I thought 7 points was quite a bit, but that goes to show you that good free throw shooting favorites can seal the deal for you.


Okie State decided to pack it in for the year too.

Bama State did come through wit the cover and Minny got there asses handed to them.
