Top pick
Arkansas -12 to -13 vs UL Monroe - Similar logic as last weeks top play winner, Southern Miss vs UL Lafayette. Looking at the long term trends between the 2 programs, Arkansas is 7-0 in this series winning by an average score of 42.7-13.4. In the past 5 match-ups it has been even worse with a 46.6-11.4 average score. The last game was in 2006 and the final was 44-10. UL-Monroe was shut out last week at Auburn 34-0. Arkansas barely squeaked by Western Illinois 28-24 in an unlined game, which possibly is giving us extra value this week with the Razorbacks. Good news for us though is that top rushing threat Michael Smith was suspended for that game but will be available for this one. The Razorback running game in that first contest was pretty pathetic, so Smith's return should help big-time. Auburn was able to run all over UL-Monroe, racking up 321 yds on the ground, so considering Arkansas QB Casey Dick can move around pretty good himself, the potential is there for a big day on the ground. Dick had a huge passing game vs W. Illinois racking up over 300 yds and 2 TD's, so if the running game does improve the Razorbacks could put up some really big numbers in this one.
Leans:
Florida -21 vs Miami
Texas -26 at UTEP
Tulsa -21 at N. Texas
Iowa -26 vs Fla. International
S. Florida -13 at UCF
All favorites, I know...but no dogs really spoke to me this week.
