Also, for those of you that made multiple selections and it was not a result of the Baltimore/Houston game being cancelled, we go with your first selection (sorry to call out cremesaver, NO was your first selection, yardman, Patriots were your first selection).

where does it say that you can email jeff if the site is down and those picks will count? Also, what is the reason for the 12:30 pm cut off on sunday afternoon. This contest has been going on for close to 10 years and there has never been a cut off time before. For 1 pm games you could post at 12:59 pm and it would count. For 4:15 pm games you could post at 4:14 pm and that would count. You could play the MNF game right up until kickoff as well. Players shouldnt be penalized if the site is down. Should we just flip a coin when the lines come out and make our plays on tuesday? WTF

Well if you'd like a view of the issue from the peanut gallery, there's always Wed, Thurs, Fri or Sat. I mean, jeez, you should be able to decide by at least Saturday night. And the rules were posted well in advance of both contests (weeks) and input was asked for at that time. No offense, but the third week into the contest is probably not the time to be raising issues like that. There's 106 contestants and just a few seem to be having issues. Besides, as far as the server issue (which has apparently been resolved), we were warned after the first occurance that it might be a gamble waiting until Sunday morning.

Dragon, I don't know how long you have been playing in the NFL game of the week contest but I've been in it since 2001...that's 8 years and I've never had a problem until now. When I ran the contest for 3 years straight years we never had issues like this because there was never a 12:30 pm sunday afternoon cut off time.

Maybe you like to make your plays early but there are a lot of us that like to wait until sunday so we can get more information. I've posted a ton of times on sunday morning or sunday afternoon in this contest and never had a problem.... and if the site was down, you could always post on sunday night or monday night.

Show me where it says you can email your pick to Jeff and it will count. I don't see that rule. I see we have a backup plan for this week to post plays but I didnt see emailing jeff as an option last week.

I don't know man. I guess you just can't provide a rule for every unforeseen incident. The server issue has probably never happened before. Some people thought of a backup plan on their own and some didn't. If we took a vote, I'm sure the vast majority wouldn't have a problem with someone emailing the person who is running the show.

In a way I can see your point. After the 1st week's problems, this note was added for Week 2.
"OK - Due to last weeks fiasco those who couldn't get in can pick 2 this week.

Sides and Totals.

Get em in early because if we have server issues again on Sunday we won't offer the same 2nd chance."

The last sentence (which I've highlighted) could be interpreted to mean that nobody's picks would count if you waited until Sunday morning and couldn't get in to actually post a pick due to server problems.

I don't know....in this case it's unfortunate for someone to have to make the decisions that are fair and equitable. Somebody, out of 106, is bound to feel slighted. After all, people were warned and still waited. But hey!.....it's a free contest that's supposed to be fun.....right? And as you know from running it, it's a very difficult task keeping track of everything and making everyone happy. Anyway, I'm willing to go along with whatever decisions are made.

I've just got one thing.
dkp made his allowed 2 picks for this week in post #8 which were Hou and Mia. Then in post #49 he changed Hou to Chi, which was a winner, so he should be 1-1 instead of 0-2.

Dragon, thanks for the compliment. I will pull my database that tracks all picks from week to week and see where the discrepancy occurred.

Monroe, I truly understand your point of view. I have been a taxman for many years working on state and local tax audits dealing with conflicting issues beeen my clients and the auditors. I have been groomed to just follow the guidelines and rules set forth in this years contest. As such, I am just the messenger, please address your concerns with Jeff. Respectfully, Taxman
