  • Look ahead to NFL Week 2

Some interesting lines of note for Week 2:

Eagles w/ Vick open up as 3pt RF @ Detroit.
Granted, Det's QB Hill had little time to prepare for the 2H, he looked horrible until the last drive against Chi. If Philly D disrupted GB's O for 1st Q, I'm sure they're licking their chops while going after Hill for 60 minutes.

    Dallas -9.5.
How many points did they score yesterday?
How many did the first team score during preseason?
Where's that potent high powered offense?
    Potentially an over inflated number!?

    Manning Bowl II
    Indy -5.5
If Indy can't stop Foster, good luck w. NYG's running back by committee.
The Super Bowl losing team trend continued yesterday and may continue in Week 2.

The Eagles are a completly different team with Vick at the helm. If they take the leash off and let him run, this team could win the NFC East. I havn't crunched all the numbers, but the Colts and Giants are not rated very high in my system. The Cowboys are not a very well disiplined team. They will continue to shoot themselves in the foot. They have talent and will win games, but will need to come together to make the playoffs. I'm at a lost for those that liked the 49ers to go far, not a good team...so far. Atlanta came out flat and now a 7 point favorite.

Peyton will carve up my Giants' Defense. I thought it would be like Indy -8 or -9. -5.5 is a great number to take Indy at home coming off a loss and getting up for Eli. Liked the over at 46.5 but it quickly jumped to 48!

I also thought Dallas -9.5 was too much.

Philly/Detroit over 41 with Vick running the show looks good.

Denver and Seattle over 39.5? Two coaches who will go for it. Not conservative.

Houston and Washington under 44.5. Skins' D is very good but McNabb won't put up many points and Shanahan is conservative.

Has anyone figured out why Dallas is favored by 9?

The public perception that the Bears were lucky to hold on against the horrible Lions. The truth is that the Bears dominated that game completely, and only stupid mistakes kept the Lions close enough for that last play to mean something. All the early sharp money is on the ears and the line is down to -8, and I suspect going down further.

Call me crazy but I am going to layt the points with the Boys coming off that loss.

The Bears are the Bears and can easily lay an egg, epecially on the road for the Cowboys home opener.

Maybe too much credit is being given to Dallas but I think the number is right on.

            Dalls by 10.

And yes, i know it is the "SQUAREST" or "PUBLIC" play on the board which I hate but sometimes the public may be right. And I will join them this week.

Personally, I gave the Bears as many as 10 points on one of my parlay cards........The home opener in Dallas will be a totally different picture than what you witnessed last Sunday night in D.C..............I see the 'Boys exposing this Bear defense for what it is: Swiss Cheese............The 'Boys will let the dogs out this weekend and win an ugly lop-sided laugher.............Cowboys by at least 16.

I have the Cowboys at minus 10...I don't have a system or factor for coach or player stuipidity....yet.

Cowboys line is shrinking...I played it at -9 (even) early and will grab some more at -7 (even) very soon.

Maybe I am way off but still cannot figure out why everyone is all over the Bears??? They beat Detroit...Barely....

And its sharp money too I think as the % has more Boys money but the line is shifting the other way.

Interesting--I am either very right or very wrong.

Bears win SU or Boys win by 17!

I hears ya Woodee..........Ware is playing, Cutler wil be running for his life most of the afternoon, Forte will not have another carreer game like he did last week, and the 'Boys will make it look much easier than the final score of 27-10 indicates.......Good Luck !!!

Well, Boone, When we are wrong we are wrong. If you are going to lose ATS, might as well lose SU.

WTF was that? Cowboys have no clue or heart.

Yup, that whole team is in shambles............You can't just pin it on Phillips, Tony Romo, or the shoddy defense..........It was a combined "non-effort" by all.

And you're right, when it was clearly evident that they wouldn't come close to covering the number, I was actually rooting for them to lose............I had four teams picked out in the NFL, and of course the other teams won easy (GB-ATL-SD) but it didn't do me any good because I used the Cowboys in all of my contests, parlays, etc...........Why does it always seem to work out like that ?

I was still licking my wounds from getting "backdoored" by a herd of elephants on the USC game on Saturday...........I mean, 1:06 left in the game........SC has the lead 32-14 (favored by 12), and they have the ball at the opponent's 25-yard-line, 1st and 10...........They fumble the ball, and allow Minnesota to go 80 yards or so in less than a minute -- the final blow coming with 16 seconds left in the game from the 22-yard-line on a touchdown pass...........Now how in the f*ck to you get behind the defense when they only have 20 yards of field to cover, and supposedly a "defensive genius guru" as your defensive coordinator ?....................No wonder they're on probabtion........They should be investigated for more than just cheating in the recruiting department...........F*ck !!!!!!

USC is 3-0 now, and haven't covered the spread yet..........Dallas is 0-2, and now have to go down to Houston to face the hottest team in football after Houston comes back from 17 points down on the road to pull it out............Good Luck.
                          ;)
