  • MNF Cowboys vs. Giants

I liked this game a lot more when Dallas wasn't getting the money but now the % bet has switched to 52% on Dallas -3 and the line is at -3.5 almost everywhere. This was my 2nd choice for my GOW selection but I went with those dumb-ass Bears instead.

I think Dallas wins this one and will be right around the number or barely get inside it winning by 4.

But the oddsmakers have it right.

I played Dallas ML in a parlay with the Chiefs yesterday so I am needing them to win SU. If I did not do that, I would have layed the 3.

Yes, they have looked like crap for weeks now, but they always seems to pull one out when they need it. If they don't I can see mass changes coming soon.

Plus I read that Eli wrote his name on the wall after BY beat them in the home opener of the new staduim. Probably small but I will take an extra motivational egde with the Boys.

    Dallas by 4.

    Lean on the Over too.

This was an article on covers.com

"Jerry Jones and his Cowboys opened their spectacular $1.2 billion stadium in a national spotlight game against the New York Giants last September. The grand-opening festivities didn’t go as planned after the Giants beat the Cowboys 33-31.

After the win, quarterback Eli Manning went into the visitor's locker room and wrote his name on the wall. He added the date and score, and added this line: ‘First win in the new stadium.’

After learning of Manning’s penmanship, Dallas linebacker Bradie James said last year, “We won’t forget that.”

When pressed about it, Manning made the excuse that somebody in the Cowboys’ organization asked him to do it. He has since confessed that he made that up, and that isn’t sitting too well with the Cowboys.

”It wasn’t anybody from our organization that asked him,” head coach Wade Phillips said. “Things come back around in this league. I respect the team we play. That’s the way I approach the game and I expect our players to do the same thing.”"

Woodee... I also liked this game as one of three that I had this weekend. Liked it better at -3. Probably going to leave alone, but will be pulling for the cowboys. Good info you posted.

If you don't mind I'd like to add my comments.
If you look at the Dallas team stats, you will find them leading their opponents in nearly every category. Dallas' woes can be mainly attributed to 2 areas...penalties and turnovers. In just 5 games they have committed a staggering 49 penalties for 404 penalty yards as opposed to their opponents who have given up 21 penalties for just 169 yds. The Cowboys are also a -5 in turnover ratio. The Houston game, which was their only win, was the only game they won the turnover battle when they committed no turnovers. In the other 4 games....all losses....they committed 9 turnovers. They have only attempted an avg of 24 rushes per game as opposed to an avg of 41 passes. They are facing a pretty good rushing defense tonight, so I would expect more of the same including a couple more INT's for Romo.
The Giants have had their share of turnovers and penalties too, but they have also been the benefactors of their share of both and they are currently on a 3 game win streak and sitting at 4-2. As for common opponents, both teams have beaten Houston and lost to Tennessee, but the Giants beat Chicago pretty easily whereas the Cowboys got thumped at home.
The Giants have the defense that's currently playing better, and the Giant defense has only given up 33 pts in the last 3 games. They have sacked opposing QB's 21 times including 15 in the last 3 games. The Giants also have the better rushing attack and at least an equal passing game, and probably a better FG kicker and special teams. If Dallas is going to win this game they are going to have to correct a lot of problems that probably aren't that easily fixed. I think I'm going to have to take the points with the team that's been playing better.

Woodee, i'm leaning to the over 45 1/2 and Dallas -3 1/2. Now all Dallas needs to do is win, near the top of the league in o and d but lacking brains. Hopefully IQ>100 today, if that happens watch out.

Well, that Romo injury about end the night. Kitna is not bad but probably rusty.

A miracle for the Boys?...Probably not.

            Good night

And now they are playing to get Wade fired I think . Voluntary prevent defense it looks like to me.

Bunch of panzies as always. No pride.

I had the Cowboys tonight as well my friends, but injury to Romo or not, they were never going to win this game..........I think it's safe to say Bye Bye Wade............He'll be having lunch with Mike Singletary and Norv Turner real soon.

                ;)

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. The Giants were running it down their throats and even Romo couldn't have answered them I don;t think. We'll never know.

                  Bunch of Bitches.

The funny thing is I always say this and I keep going back and losing with them. I am done now for sure.

Cowboys are the best 1-5 team money can buy

funny I had this as my pick of the week but in favor of giants. People blow up the cowboys way way too much and in my mind they were just not going to win this. I know I'm posting after the fact but I didn't see this thread earlier though I did have it as my pick for this week.
key lesson: take the cowboys for what they are worth and not how much the media blows them up. And they're not worth much this year.

I had the Giants too, but the people that frequent this site are a lot smarter than you are giving them credit for. If people here picked the 'Boys it wasn't because of media influence.
